Experience the world renowned Ugandan hospitality amidst unrivaled nature, scenery and serenity in the heart of Kibale rainforest National Park, Uganda’s primates’ paradise; Primate Lodge Kibale’s principal edge is our location, right next to the starting point for Chimpanzee Tracking excursion as well as the incredible Chimpanzee Habituation experience, really, two of the most genuinely breathtaking wildlife experiences on the planet. Primate Lodge Kibale Offers a range of options to accommodate all our guests. Our most recent addition, the brand new 9 luxury cottages of a superior design are bound to blow your heart away. Far more spacious and airy, with luxurious bathrooms, really huge glass windows and full size glass paneled sliding doors- they let in a lot of natural light and affording 180 degree views of the beautiful rainforest surroundings from your bed. Our seven mid-level forest cottages are en-suite with spacious bathrooms, 2x twin size beds or 1x king size bed, lounge chairs and a spacious verandah overlooking the rainforest. For our adventurous guests, we offer a secluded Sky Tree House (not self-contained) about 200m deep in the forest. Elevated about 18-feet above ground and overlooking a meadow, it enjoys excellent views over the forest canopy and is regularly visited by black and white colobus monkeys, red tailed monkeys, blue monkeys, forest elephants, even chimpanzee sometimes.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Excellent small lodge a stones throw away from the Chimpanzee trek start point. Top notch service with food and drinks to match. Rooms are private well appointed with good hot showers. Lodge manager Grissom could not have been more accommodating and professional. Butler Amanda was without fault in her efforts to make us have a wonderful experience there. Other than the possibility of having a fan in the room, it was a fantastic experience. Thanks!

This was the most amazing stay I have ever had. The staff catered to our family with any need we had. The houses were absolutely amazing with balconies opening up right into the jungle. The staff was there for anything you could possibly need.

The primate lodge is the only lodge in the Kibale National Forest! All the employees are so kind and can’t do enough for you. Hilda took care of all our meals and made sure everything was just right. She is so soft spoken and has a beautiful smile. Our room was spacious and clean with mosquito netting around the beds . It also has a big walk in shower .

Form the moment we arrive to the moment we left we were treated with so much kindness. The lodge is absolutely gorgeous, with the main building laid out in the most inviting way! Our room was a perfect hidden gem in the forest. We saw and heard so many monkeys while enjoying our coffee on the porch. The staff were wonderful, so friendly, so willing to go above and beyond. This is a true gem by all accounts!

My husband and I had the privilege to stay at this beautiful lodge located in the Kibale National Park. It is a short distance to start your journey into the jungles to see Chimpanzees in the wild. Our room was extremely well appointed, comfortable, and included a fireplace for the chilly evenings which can occur. We also had a private firepit in the rear of our HUGE private patio area. You do not need to go far to experience wildlife, as a troop of Baboons loved to lounge on our patio. The service was impeccable, and we were personally attended to by the adorable Jockus! He met our every need and ensured that our stay was comfortable. Could not say enough about all of the staff. The food was delightful, with a varied menu nightly. I tried to the local dishes and found them to be fabulous. The Chef was a MASTER at soups, and he shared some recipes with me, which was greatly appreciated. We have been to Africa numerous times and found this lodging to be amongst our top favorite places. The decor was African chic, comfortable, contemporary and very well appointed.

Extremely well-run and friendly lodge with private, serene bungalows. Vincent is an attentive chief butler. Exevious was our assigned butler and helped arrange activities. Try the bamboo massage with Shiren (Sham) to relax, improve circulation and support lymphatic drainage. We wish we stayed longer at this lovely lodge - our favorite in Uganda.
