Neat place to stop on my way through from the East Coast......Andre was the perfect host and very entertaining. :) His Abyssinian cat is lovely. He made an excellent breakfast, served with candles at a gorgeously set table, looking out onto his fabulous garden space. My room was small and the bathroom very tiny, but the bed was incredibly comfortable and my room was dead quiet. Had an excellent night's sleep. Be sure to go downstairs to the pub to have dinner (I recommend the pad thai) and chat with Guy - the friendliest restaurant manager ever. Great chance to practice your french if you're a bit rusty like me as well. :) A very comfortable experience for a female travelling on her own. Thanks very much, Andre and Guy - will see you again!

Really nice B&B (6 rooms a far as I know) close to the university. Run with enthusiasm by André. Nice, clean & cosy room (#3), tasty breakfast. I haven't checked the garden and the pool because of October.

This bed and breakfast is a lovely old home, very nicely decorated, comfortable bed. Andre is wonderful, very friendly and accomidating. Andre goes out of his way to make you happy. The downside of this B&B is noise from other rooms, we were trying to sleep and could clearly hear someone having a bath in the next room. Breakfast which is included is fantastic! You can order anything from the entire breakfast menu. Our meals were very good, cooked to order and include plenty of fresh fruit.

First thing to note is that the name is listed wrong on tripadvisor it's Gîte du Caméléon NOT "Le" Cameleon. I have a few beliefs when it comes to travelling. I believe that when a place of business contacts you it should do so professionally through a business account/e-mail that is easily recognized and not through the personal e-mail of someone you’ve never heard of, especially when that someone is writing to tell you you’ll be sharing his bathroom…Originally I had included the e-mail correspondence to show the absurdity of the situation I was dealt but it apparently went against Tripadvisors rules and I had to remove it. Ultimately we ended up with a room that had a private bath such as it was because Andre had been mistaken. I did happen to see the bathroom he was going to have us share across the hall and it was disgusting. I also believe that check-in hours imply that there will actually be someone there to check you in. When we arrived we were unsure where to park so my husband stayed with the car while I went in search of help. Not knowing if the resto/pub mentioned on their website was connected to the B&B and being the most obvious entrance, I went in. I was first instructed around to the front where I entered to find the house empty, after several wasted minutes calling out to the void I exited to find the staffer I met previous coming up the path to inform me where my room was to be and that Andre would be there in about 30min. Mind you the staffer barely spoke English and I can’t speak French so this interaction was more difficult than it sounds. I inquired as to the parking and was gestured to a full driveway which after a few more moments was vacated by some unsavory looking individuals. I really wanted to leave at this point but I knew I’d still get charged so we parked and started bringing our stuff in. At this point I should’ve left well enough alone and just gone to the room I was shown, locked myself in and gone to sleep as we were nearly dead on our feet having been up since 5am. Entering the house I noticed a young man with a laptop in the previously empty living room and asked if he worked there to which he pulled out his cell, dialed, spoke briefly and handed it to me, it was Andre and he spoke at great length of things I could not comprehend while my legs just wanted to give out from under me. When were finally able to lock ourselves into the room and go to sleep the house came alive, bare floors + 1” gap under the door=too much noise. The bathroom didn’t look well cleaned, the shower was Closter phobic and for extra fun the toilet seat shifts side to side when you sit. There were 2 full size bottles of shampoo and no soap for the shower, luckily we brought our own and the tile floor is missing grout and feels like patio pavers under your feet. The overall feel of the place is like when a friend talks you into stay with them at one of their friends places that you’ve never met and your so uncomfortable you just really want to leave. My only face to face interaction with Andre was when I handed him my credit card to leave (we passed on breakfast, after all we’d seen why would anybody eat there). I've seen some positive things written about this place and I can only conclude that they must've been placed by family or friends to misguide folks.

Recently spent 2 nights at Gite Le Cameleon and we had a very good experience. The owner is very nice and very helpful, the breakfast was also excellent. On the same property is the Snack Cameleon which also offer very good food for lunch or dinner. We enjoyed our stay.

We were looking for a place that would be central and accessible to the University for my business appointments and came onto this B & B's website via Booking.com. Although I have had problems with Booking.com recently and was not keen to give them my business, I decided to book anyway. Everything went smoothly and we arrived as planned on Sunday afternoon. The house had an at home feel to it and the owner, André could not do enough even driving me to my appointments at the University in the morning as it was raining. The room was a little on the small side and there baseboards and cracked tiles in the bathroom, but it was generally comfortable and the bed was great and there was not a sound coming from anywhere which made for a good night's sleep. I would definitely recommend as it was good value for the money and André provides a full breakfast to begin your day. The dining had Victorian charm and I lived that it was fully set with a white tablecloth. It was a nice change of scenery and we enjoyed our stay.

My fiance and I recently stayed at this quaint bed and breakfast for one night in early June and had a very positive experience. The house itself is very beautiful and well-decorated, both inside and out. The owner, Andre, was extremely friendly and accommodating during our stay. We arrived late (3 am) after attending a wedding and had lost the key. Since Andre had given us his personal cell phone number this was not a problem and we didn't have to wait long for him to come open our room with the spare key. The following morning Andre prepared a delicious breakfast (complete with eggs made to order, sausage, bacon, ham, beans, potatoes, toast and fresh fruit). Andre was also flexible with the checkout time, which we appreciated very much (this provided us with some extra relaxation time, during which we took advantage of the jacuzzi in the beautiful garden/patio area). As we mentioned, there is a jacuzzi in the garden/patio along with a pool (it happened to be broken while we were there, but it sounded like it would be repaired soon) and very comfy seating. Some details about the room: Our room had a ceiling fan and air conditioning, as well as windows that actually open! The bathroom was small, but nice. There were also 2 bathrobes in the room, which was nice! There is no clock radio/alarm clock, but everyone's cell phone has an alarm anyways, so we didn't see this as a big deal. The room also contained a flat screen tv. Misc. The restaurant below the property (Snack Cameleon) looked very good and seemed quite popular. The only downside is that it's closed on Sundays, but Andre was able to direct us to a nearby cafe so we could have lunch (we would have preferred to try Snack Cameleon though!). The location of the property is fairly good - the cost of the cab ride to the main street area of Sherbrooke was roughly $15. Final Notes: If you're looking for the more relaxed and personalized experience of a clean bed and breakfast in Sherbrooke then we highly recommend the Cameleon!

Visiting relatives in Sherbrooke we stayed two nights at this B & B, which apparently opened one year ago. The overall experience was disappointing. The home is actually quite beautiful, with a delightful parlor. There are nice artistic touches and beautiful artifacts throughout. However, our bedroom was a disappointment. This particular room has a ceiling fan but not air conditioning, although the more noisy rooms at the front of the house do have air conditioning. Our room lacked a waste basket and a bath mat, both of which were provided when we asked. There was no clock or clock radio in the room, but there was a flat panel TV. Free wireless Internet access is provided but gaining access was cumbersome. The owner, Andre, is very pleasant and eager to learn. I expect that this B & B will improve with time.
