Was here for a conference. It's a great rate, not a far walk from conference centers. It's not fancy, but was good for my purposes. There are enough restaurants, a grocery store, and things nearby. Not recommended for those looking for a romantic getaway or anything, but it served its purposes.

I was looking forward to my stay at this hotel. The price was right, good location, and telephone contact very good. When I arrived a large youth group was checking in but I was reassured that I would be on a different floor. This residence/hotel appears to be undergoing renovations but my room was large, clean, and had everything I...

I stayed here as part of a package with a conference. If you have to do this, make sure it's at a cheap rate, because it's not a great establishment. For a hotel it is shabby, for a cheap(ish) group accommodation it is barely adequate. At least the Wifi worked fairly well. Breakfasts included in our tariff consisted of nice...

Was stuck for a hotel and was hesitant about a student hostel. Beds were comfortable, air conditioning was great and was very quiet. Great location. Helpful staff at front desk. Parking was available downstairs.

The residence which becomes a hotel in the summer is right on du parc on the outskirts of downtown. There is a metro grocery store, dollar store, liquor store and theatre right below the hotel! The building is older but fairly well maintained. My only complaint would be the washroom and the kitchen. The washroom is out od date and...

I was searching for a place to post up for a long weekend in Montreal. There's definitely less expensive and more expensive places out there, but I wanted somewhere that was walking distance to pubs, restaurants, and shopping. I also wanted somewhere that was clean. While the rooms are a little tired, the place was clean and bed was comfortable....

I stayed at this hotel for the Grand Prix. Even with the premium price for that weekend, it was still a bargain. The hotel was clean enough, and the staff was very friendly. It is a no-frills hotel but met my needs. Location is several blocks from the key tourist areas of Cresent St and St Catherine, so have good...

This property met our needs location wise with regards to the Montreal Jazz Festival which was a short 10 minute walk away. Arrived on a Friday and departed on Monday, room was worn out and needs upgrading. The bed was comfortable. There was no hot water from the shower but was ok out of the sink tap. Advised the front desk...

Hotel shows a 4 star rating on its signage, wouldn't give it 1 star. Breakfast was typical "student" food, not something for international travellers. Same thing every morning, powdered scrambled eggs, breakfast potatoes and wafer thin bacon swimming in oil. Windows sealed shut so no fresh air. Room not vacuumed once during our stay, very dusty. Furniture not what you...

It was inexpensive and functional, but I wouldn't go so far as to say it'd be a first choice for my next trip back to Montreal. You can certainly tell it's an ex-hotel>converted into a dorm>converted into a cheap hotel when the students are gone. My showerhead was held together by superglue, the tub had a twoonie-sized rusted out area...

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colourful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
