It is all that you expect it to be: seamless service from check in, to breakfast service in the room, dinner downstairs in the restaurant. Great food. Top location to just walk around Montreal fancy restaurants and shops. Only downside was the valet service was a bit slow, minor matter. The rooms are beautifully appointed. This hotel is everything that... More

Hotel Kutuma is nothing but a fairly priced hotel with weird decor and friendly staff. The location is great, on Rue Saint-Denis there are many bakeries, restaurants and bars that you can choose from. The room was a fair size with kitchen facilities, which were not the cleanest. It appeared that the glasses that were placed in our room were... More

Hotel Kutuma is situated on a busy portion of Rue St.Denis. Busy in that your options for shopping, dining, drinking coffee, wine, beer & hot chocolate are at your door step. Rooms are well equipped with kitchen facilities, a spacious setting, a very clean bath room and comfortable bed. Don't expect fancy concierge service, a gym or mini bar. They... More

I found Kutuma by pure chance- it was a popular weekend in Montreal and this was one of the few hotels available that fit the bill. Driving up to the hotel it is completely unassuming, even the check in is simple, however, once you enter the rooms it's like a completely different place. The rooms are spacious, have a small... I stayed at this hotel based on the reviews of TripAdvisor. This hotel was not bad, far from it, however it also wasn't an amazing hotel either. I stayed in one of their suites with the full kitchen and living room. Bed was comfortable (soft mattress), with a lot of pillows. It had a very good location being on St.... More

Katuma made our one night trip to Montreal so enjoyable! We booked a delux room with a jacuzi tub and when we got there and saw the room, we were so impressed. The room (rm 301) was spacious, beautifully decorated and had a great view of the populuar St. Denis street below. The service was great too! I forgot my... More

My wife and I just returned from a weekend in Montreal. We stayed at the Hotel Kutuma, on Rue St. Denis. It is a warm and beautiful boutique hotel. The room was much bigger than a normal hotel room and the service was warm and helpful. It is quieter and not in the middle of the tourist noise. We hope... More

My fiancee and I just got back from a three day trip in Montreal, and had a wonderful stay at the Hotel Kutuma. It's a small, boutique style hotel, but you wouldn't know that by looking at the rooms. They are enormous and have every amenity you could think of. Between the gigantic bathtub, the fully stocked kitchen (microwave, fridge,... More

We recently flew to Montreal for a long weekend to celebrate our anniversary and to visit our daughter, a student at McGill. The staff at the hotel were fabulous, very courteous and helpful. The hotel is conveniently located near the metro and bus stops, but is also located in a neighborhood perfect for exploring on foot. Rooms are spacious, comfortable... More

We loved the location, the rooms and the food. It is way way better than any of the regular big hotels / chains - which cost approximately the same or more. The location is very good for tourists. We especially liked the cafes nearby. Very good service and there is valet parking facility. But please note that there is no elevator.

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colourful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
