Fresh croissants delivered to your door with coffee. Steps to the Metro, the bus to the airport, and restaurants and shops. This hotel charges half what others do -- and Canada is already a bargain. If you are single and love savng money, this is your spot. Rooms are basic but clean. Yes they are buildiing condos so turn on...

This hotel is a bit run down, but it is in a good location and the rooms are spacious. In fact, our room had two washrooms in it. The walls are very thin, and we could hear our neighbors as if they were in the same room as us. But everything was quiet after about 10pm. Reception was very helpful,...

The price to location combination cannot be beat. This place is old and a bit raggedy, but it's clean and safe. You're in the midst of everything right of Rue Ste Catherine, this is just a place to sleep. Would absolutely stay here again.

Please note that my rating is based around a 2 star hotel. It is well torn and scabby. The rooms are small and you can hear everything through the walls. We came in late on a thursday so we got aware of the party street that was just outside. At 6.00 in the morning the construction workers got started so...

4 stars just for location alone. Raggedy. But you come to enjoy the city, not the hotel. Parking is first come, first serve. 7 slots is extremely tight. Construction noise from adjacent site. Furnitures need repairs.

This hotel is just off rue Saint Catherine's, it's a three minute walk to the metro station. Great access to the city, near the cities most famous street? Doesn't get any better than that. There's a clerk at the front desk 24 hours a day, and breakfast is included which is delivered to your door (juice, coffee, French bread, croissants)....

I love this hotel. It was cheap as heck, everyone is nice, the room is clean, and it's near everything. It's a smallish room I guess but the bed is comfortable and it has a fridge. I'm not here to stay in a room anyway. Plus you're in the heart of the village and there's so much to do nearby,...

There is really nothing to wrong with this hotel, except that it's falling apart, most lights don't work, the furniture is falling apart and in general disrepair. It has a great location BUT there is massive construction going on right outside and it feels like the whole building is going to collapse due to the massive jack hammering and earth...

I love staying here. There is breakfast to your room. Close walking distance to things to do. It really is great. Staff is very friendly. Rates are very reasonable. I would recommend staying here and would stay again.

My wife & I spent three nights at the hotel located close to The Village, Metro & bus terminal. Hotel is within easy walking distance of Old Montreal, Latin Quarter, The Plateau, Little Italy & Mont Royal. The local area around Rue Sainte Catherine has numerous shopping malls. Nearby Rue Saint - Denis has a large number of restaurants to...

Staying in The Village (Gay Village)

Neighbourhood Profile
The Village (Gay Village)
The rainbow pillars of Beaudry Métro Station shepherd the way into to The Village, one of the largest hubs for gay and lesbian culture in North America. With an open layout and a congenial aura, the refurbished buildings along Rue Sainte-Catherine pay a special homage to menswear and to caffeine, with showrooms and cafes. By morning, the antiquing gems along Amherst Street are packed with collectors. An incredible party spot, The Village comes alive at night, when clubs, bars, and dance halls open their doors and the revelry is high, epitomised by the fanciful trimmings of the apropos Oscar Wilde building. From May to September, the area closes to automotive traffic, allowing restaurant terraces to pour onto the streets, creating a dynamic sense of community. Les Boules Roses, thousands of pink baubles, are hung to welcome in the festivals and celebrations, including Montréal en Arts, Divers-Cité, and the Pride Parade.
