Squeaky floors, squeaky doors, squeaky bed! The night staff was not friendly. More worried about being on his headphones. If I hadn't asked, I wouldn't have known about breakfast: you have to tell them the night before what time you want breakfast to be served. After a horrible night of sleep, at least breakfast included good bread. That's the only...

This hotel is in a great location but a quick search of the room revealed insects that like to feast on people in bed. Management handled it well, offering another room or refund. Hope they solve the issue quickly.

On my previous visits to montreal we stayed there and this hotel never pretended to be a 3 or4 star hotel, the place is very central and close to the subway, st catherine blvd is stone trow, the building is old and dated, rooms are small and have tiny bathrooms, but as far as I remember the place was clean...

Been staying here for many, many years but it's time to change. The housekeeping and room conditions have never been great by any means, but has gotten worse over the last few years. No curtains (but a rod was there), old leftover food, elastics, missing lightbulbs, miscellaneous other left overs. You get much better for same price.

This should not be called a hotel. It is a building with rooms. Dirty carpet tiny room , no desk, way over priced, little by way of lobby. Elevator up to third floor only. Ashamed to invite guests to this hotel. There are so many good 2 and 3 star hotels in Montreal that this place should be booked only...

We erred in booking this hotel. The public areas smelled of ancient tobacco and dirt. The elevator stopped working on the 2nd day of our stay and we were on the 3rd floor. Employees told us it was working, but it was not. We tried to get to the 3rd floor and doors would not open. We pressed other buttons...

We checked in and the room was not ready. Aside from that, the rooms looked old and unclean. The air conditioner was not working very well either. After reporting all of these, we were told that it takes time for the air conditioner to cool. Coming back from dinner, the air conditioner was still not working at its optimum level...

This hotel was a short walk to the old city places to see. The concierge upon arrival helped us with a map to locate a nearby public parking which had more reasonable rates than the ones closer the the hotel. The room was quiet and had tv and a bathroom with shower. The carpet of the corridors are old and...

Price was wrong by $30 but gave us the price listed and parking hasn't been part of the package in 2 years. Hotel is on a one way street. Dividing blocks of St. Catherine's st that are closed to automobiles. In these areas restaurants flow out onto the streets as type of a patio or European style dining experience. Covered...

Staying in The Village (Gay Village)

Neighbourhood Profile
The Village (Gay Village)
The rainbow pillars of Beaudry Métro Station shepherd the way into to The Village, one of the largest hubs for gay and lesbian culture in North America. With an open layout and a congenial aura, the refurbished buildings along Rue Sainte-Catherine pay a special homage to menswear and to caffeine, with showrooms and cafes. By morning, the antiquing gems along Amherst Street are packed with collectors. An incredible party spot, The Village comes alive at night, when clubs, bars, and dance halls open their doors and the revelry is high, epitomised by the fanciful trimmings of the apropos Oscar Wilde building. From May to September, the area closes to automotive traffic, allowing restaurant terraces to pour onto the streets, creating a dynamic sense of community. Les Boules Roses, thousands of pink baubles, are hung to welcome in the festivals and celebrations, including Montréal en Arts, Divers-Cité, and the Pride Parade.
