We decided to visit Montreal last minute, this was the only place available without paying hundreds. Upon arriving in Montreal, we found it v hard to find the hotel. It was badly signposted at the front. Service: the lady upon check in was v rude and unhelpful. Parking: we did not want to leave our car here. The 'car park'...

More than 50 years ago, I used to live, work and study in Montreal. On my return it was, initially quite unrecognizable - skyscrapers, where traditional homes used to be, streets renamed, places of work torn down - all a bit bewildering. BUT, and starting from my hotel, I could slowly rediscover both the old hide-outs as well as the...

I was looking for someplace close to a convention venue @ McGill, and spotted this place. To use the euphemism, it IS a "heritage" property: noticeably older, with some wear, but not quite as bad as the Blues Brothers' accomodations :) hat said, I found it clean, with courteous service. I felt safe there, and it was very close (no...

Sometimes you just need a bed for the night - nothing more. Casa Bella is that kind of hotel. We have stayed there twice now. It is cheap and has a good location plus free parking is included - no complaints there. However, this time it was a very cold night and the room was COLD. There were only 2...

Hotel Casa Bella is great! You cannot beat the location. While the parking was is a little challenge but come on it's free after all. The room was small but nice and cozy. It did not have private bathrooms which didn't bother me to share one with the other guests. The owners are very kind and accommodating. The 24-hr convenient...

"Casa bella" is one of the worst hotels I have ever been to. Rating this hotel makes u lol as it doesn't meet the minimum standards. I was wondering why the most popular apps like TripAdvisor place such kind of hotels with them spoiling their reputation. Free parking was provided where u can't access to ur car at anytime u...

This hotel is not the most horrible hotel.. except for the bathroom. I made a reservation via Expedia, I always check here the reviews before booking, so I check, they seem umm bad but well we were looking for a economic place to stay two nights. I suppose Montreal is expensive because I pay like $200 for two nights. The...

The hotel is located on Sherbooke West which is one of the main traffic streets in Montreal. Outside the hotel is a bus stop and no parking areas which makes it very difficult to unload baggage. Parking is provided at the rear of the hotel which 3 parks wide and 3 parks deep making it very difficult to access you...

Staying in Quartier des Spectacles

Neighbourhood Profile
Quartier des Spectacles
The bar-none entertainment district for music and arts, Quartier des Spectacles is an interactive playground that delights the senses. It totals over 30 performance halls, with the vibrant Place des Festivals at its heart. The outdoor event space features glowing towers, glass edifices, and granite-lined bike paths, and hosts annual festivals, concerts, and comedy nights. The cinema, theatres, and exhibition centres are entwined with external art projects, exemplified at Montreal's Contemporary Art Museum and appearing along every walkway of the Promenade des Artistes in the form of sculpture and public works, from digitally-enhanced swingsets to glowing fountains. Design, performance, and alternative music come together here, a stone's throw from the lively Latin Quarter along Rue Saint-Denis, the quintessential after-party spot for dinner and a drink following a day of jazz, poetry and play.
