Anne Ma Soeur Anne is a clean, well kept hotel in a great location. Our only difficulty was the disruption caused by municipal work on the street. Now that the street construction is being completed, it will be even better!

The location was perfect. It was surrounded by cafes, shops and the Metro. The street is a quiet street other than the construction work. I would suggest staying in a room on the back of the building. The rooms are small but perfect for solo, economical traveling.

Quaint hotel in a good location for shopping and dining. I felt like I was in Europe. Old buildings with interesting architecture and luckily the locals could switch to English easily. The hotel did have a very steep staircase that was difficult to manage with a week's worth of luggage and no assistance, but the manager did help carry on...

Location is great. Hotel is so-so. Room was clean but we did have a hard time getting hold of someone when we needed more toilet paper. We finally had to track someone down to get it. Beds were very firm, which is obviously good or bad depending on your preference. But again, the location is great and the price is...

A closet with a bed, no room for anything,if you have luggage, good luck, the floor squeeked , the bed squeeked, no a/c control, had to call and ask to increase the a/c, jazz club downstairs was annoying, don't get exited about the croissants. Will not return.

For the money, surely a traveller can do better. It is true that this studio hotel is well located, but this hardly makes up for the street noise, poorly equipped room, tired bathroom, lumpy pillow and squeaky bed. The room was clean enough, but there were no bath towels (some were brought up quickly); our breakfast involved sad croissants and...

This hotel is perfect for what it is! It's a cute little walk-up, almost as if you had your own apartment in the hip and trendy Plateau neighborhood of Montreal. The rooms are clean, there is plenty of space, and the kitchenette is quite convenient. The croissant left on the door every morning was nothing too spectacular but it was...

Access is a very steep set of stairs from the street, not easy with a lot of luggage. Room was quite small & right in the front so noise from the street was a problem as well as the Jazz club below. Staff were very helpful & knowledgeable about the area, Metro was not too far away & plenty of...

This is one of those tricky reviews. This is not a five star accommodation (a Grand Hotel)..or a 4 star (a Westin)...or really a 3 star (a Holiday Inn) -it is more like a European hotel - a converted walk-up with small rooms and very homey with a touch of atmosphere and nice people. My room was a single on...

The people are so fabulous - I left a pair of earrings there months ago. Today when I was leaving, the woman at the desk told me she had something of mine...she had found them after my last visit, had called my office but no one followed up (??) so had been keeping in the safe a beautiful pair of...

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colourful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
