Lovely hotel in old Mtl. Great character, very friendly and accommodating staff. Room was upgraded on arrival which was a pleasant surprise. 2 blocks from Notre Dame square which is a great place to chill and take in the sights. Many excellent restaurants (although lots of turnover in that regard do call ahead of you are looking to eat at...

Great location for wallking and exploring. Very helpful staff. Our roomy suite was a comfy home base for the 3 of us. My 13 year old son said that even the sofa bed was comfortable! Several good breakfast options nearby, too. A great stay during our first visit to Montreal.

Had a large suite with separate sitting area and large bathroom. Good value for money, great location for visiting the old town, art works certainly brighten up the hotel!! Staff were mostly very friendly and helpful.

Fantastic hotel centrally located in Old Montreal. It is a quick walk to restaurants of every caliber, shops, boutiques, art galleries, the old port & the train station and underground. The hotel itself is an upscale gallery with art on every floor and in the guest rooms showcasing modern art. The hotel staff was extremely helpful, courteous and presented great...

The impact of this hotel's rather wonderful art collection is undermined by the in-your-face starkness of an old fashioned and unattractive room decor. The staff were very helpful and the location really good. Could be a wow hotel if the rooms were upgraded.

We spent one night in March. The hotel had interesting decor and the room was comfortable, but the service was not great. Worse of all, there was loud partying until after 3:30 and the staff did nothing to stop it. I complained to the desk staff the next morning and the woman laughed it off, saying yes, some of the...

Having stayed at L'Hotel already about 5 times, I still like the special atmosphere and the individual style of each room. Staff is very friendly and cleanliness fully acceptable and even better than in other hotels in same area / same price range I've stayed in before. However, having had to discuss for the third time in a row now...

We stayed this past weekend at LHotel Montreal with our 11 month old while enjoying Old Montreal. The hotel is in the perfect location and we were able to easily walk to many great restaurants, shops, and the Old Port. The room was spacious, beautiful, and very clean! We cannot say enough about the kindness of the staff at this...

My wife and I loved our stay in Old Montreal and part of that was due to the service and amenities we received from LHotel Montreal. We happened to arrive when Northern Canada was going through a cold weather streak. The staff helped us get around town as covered up as possible and yet still enjoy the city. We enjoyed...

Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighbourhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic centre of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its centre, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theatre.
