I would like to complain about horrible advise Expedia travel agent give me and the hotel we end up booking. Chatou St Mark was advertised to me as a luxurious boutique hotel. When i specifically inquired if it a bed and breakfast I was told that no it is a very nice hotel. We came with a friends and found...

I am planning to stay here next week. I have until the 29th to cancel. My room is called "deluxe king suit with jetted tub". It is supposed to have two bathrooms and another room with a single bed. My questions are... 1.) Do they really charge to use the jetted tub if it's stated in the room name? 2.)...

We didn't want to stay in a chain hotel and this place did not disappoint. In an old house south of St. Catherine across from the architecture museum, Chateau St. Marc is ideally placed for getting anywhere you want in Montreal. I should start out by saying that the property is more of a B&B than hotel. Small number of...

We booked this property based on other reviews we had read and were not disappointed. We had no problem finding the Inn and we were assisted by Ebol & his staff with our luggage into the house. There are steps to enter the Inn and some of the rooms are located even up more steps, but we were on the...

Clean. Decent beds. Close to everything. Walk to Bell Center, joe beef, downtown. Hop on the metro (once you figure out where the pedestrian underpass is) and you're in old montreal or at the marche in no time. Now - this is not a hotel. B&B is a better description. The decor is odd and they need a visit from...

This is a small hotel with a great potential to be charming. The location is very good if you'd like to enjoy what downtown Montreal has to offer both during the day and at night (10 mins walking). However, a few things keep it from reaching its potential. For starters, the narrow spiral staircase that leads to the rooms in...

We stayed here for a weekend and greatly enjoyed it, the location was great, and we felt it was priced very well. Montreal is a great city, and this little hotel allowed ease of commute to and from anywhere in the city, theres a metro 3 blocks away, and Mont Royal was only about a 20 minute walk. St Catherines...

First, this is NOT a typical hotel. I would call it a bed and breakfast in a single family row house in a residential neighborhood that has been converted. We stayed in "Suite 4F" The Good: It is close to St Catherine street where there are reasonable restaurants. Also walkable to Tourist Information Center and the metro. Rooms were clean...

My girlfriend and I went here on April 14 2015, I know late time to put a review but for this place I just had to! Since we are a younger couple we didn't think a Chateau would be fit for us but we gave it a try and it was! We stayed at the room which is right next...

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighbourhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
