On Saturday night I was celebrating with my wife a good friends birthday at a local restaurant and decided that booking a room might be a good thing to do since we live outside of Montreal. So at the last minute I started calling several hotels. All of them we're booked tight, a friend recommended I call Hotel de Paris...

After arriving in Canada and finding out that our accommodations fell through at the last minute, my friend and I found Hotel de Paris. They had one room left - the smallest (I hope!) and on the top/3rd floor. It was reasonably priced for a Saturday and Sunday night stay without a reservation and when we got upstairs we found...

My 2 daughters and I LOVED this quaint hotel. It's not a run of the mill chain operation, which we loved. It had charm and appeal and very friendly service - English and French spoken. We enjoyed getting our exercise on the steep steps leading up to it, but IF YOU CAN'T do steps easily, this would not be the...

I stayed in an 8 bed dorm, beds were a nice thick foam and comfy. Rooms were a bit cramped as was the washroom area, but there were other stalls available. If you are looking for a nice quiet place to just lay your head down at night because you will be out all day checking out all the sights...

We called at the last minute and a very courteous gentleman confirmed a vacancy and reserved us a room. There is limited parking and no elevator, but the friendly staff helped us get our luggage up the stairs and to our room. The room was small but comfortable and clean. The bathroom appeared new and very clean. The television worked...

Our regular hotel was booked so I thought we would give this place a try. The staff were all friendly and courteous; I really wanted to like it and tried to make the best of it but ended up getting a refund and driving home on our 1 year anniversary. We stayed across the street from the hotel lobby in...

The hotel is a beautiful mansion, my expectations may have been too high. It is not wheelchair friendly. There is a large stair case up to the lobby and more stairs if you were put in a room upstairs. Our room was tiny, 10' x 10', no room for luggage. The bathroom was renovated but not well. There is grout...

This hotel is lovely, quaint, not a chain hotel. Our room was across the road in the annex, it was a good size, very comfortable. The staff were professional & friendly. You have to collect a voucher each morning for breakfast if it was included in your room rate, to take down to the restaurant down stairs underneath. This could...

I spent 2 nights in this hotel. A really nice and familiar creating atmosphere hotel. My room was quite small but had all what I needed. Good bed, a/c, TV, shower, bed side tables and a little wardrobe. I will surely choose this hotel again if coming back in Montreal!

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colourful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
