My husband and I stayed here for a week and our favorite thing about the hotel was the cleaning staff. Yes, every afternoon and morning they greeted us remembered us and were genuinely sweet. This hotel is clean, simple and modern. The location is perfect for just walking around. The restaurant down stairs is delicious. Breakfast is over priced and...

The St. Paul Hotel was fantastic with only a couple small shortcomings. The location was fantastic at the corner of McGill and St. Paul...just a right out the front door and maybe twenty steps and you turn right onto rue St. Paul for a fantastic walk through Old Montreal. The alternative is to stay straight on McGill and head up...

The hotel was dark. They told us it was smoke free, it wreaked of smoke. The carpets were filthy, the decor, the room terrible. They need to modernize and update everything! They try to advertise as artsy, boutique like, don't believe it . . over priced, cheesy dump!

The staff at the hotel was truly exceptional. The rooms are fun / funky / modern and the hallways a little dark (like a W), but everything was very comfortable. An excellent location within easy walking distance of all of Old Montreal.

We stay here one night! The place is beautiful! There is not parking included, service mediocre! Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighbourhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic centre of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its centre, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theatre.
