This has now become my "go to" hotel in Montreal. I've now stayed there about 5 or 6 times in the last few months. The pricing is incredibly reasonable, and I've been lucky enough to be upgraded into one of their suites on the vast majority of their visits. Their suites are amazing and much better than those in other...

Loved my four night stay at the St Paul. It was a great hotel, large room, and friendly staff. Close to the metro and very easy to get around. Lovely view from the room and great place to spend a winter visit in Montreal.

This boutique hotel is in a beautiful old building at a terrific location for Old Montreal. While the hotel has a cool, W like vibe the rooms are in bad need of renovation and new furniture. One of the tables in the room almost fell over when I put my briefcase on it because it was so unstable.

Attentive friendly staff, beautiful deluxe room, delicious food for breakfast. We were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go. The only thing I didn't like was the elevator and hallway. Very dark and felt a bit like a dungeon but it was all forgotten when we stepped into our fabulous room!!

I was delighted with the elegant architecture and the high fashion furnishings throughout the hotel. The service was friendly and professional at all times from all employees. The food and drinks at the hotel restaurant were delicious. It was an experience of luxury and comfort infused with soul.

We strayed at the St Paul on Dec 30th. We were attending a comic show at the Olympia. Convenient location. Uber drivers all around the place. Comfy bed. Nice room but needs refreshing. Lot of noise outside the following morning. Average for a 4 stars hotel in Montreal.

Staff were nice and friendly, bed was comfortable, restaurant makes nice cocktails. The place is a little tired and could do with brightening up. Location is good, right on the edge of the old Montreal district, lots of bars and restaurants easy walking distance.

Boutique hotel in good location (best of old and new montreal) and good staff all around. SPG platinum amenities could be better though, like breakfast for instance? : ) Funky rooms and design help offset.

Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighbourhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic centre of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its centre, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theatre.
