Nice room with two beds and a desk as well as a kitchen and living area with a large fridge and freezer which was great. Bathroom is shared with other guests. Easy walk to st Catherine s st shops and to subway. Anne is helpful and knowledgeable. Breakfast was ok and you can choose to have it as an add...

This was our second visit to Montreal. Summary as follows: Hostess/Innkeeper: A++. Anne makes you feel right at home as soon as you arrive. My wife and I traveled with our two year old daughter and she went out of her way to interact and talk with her. She is familiar with all the usual tourist spots to visit as...

We spent 7 days at this B & B where we received a very warm welcome and wonderful service. Anne proved to be a lovely hostess, providing us with excellent breakfasts, regular suggestions as to locations worth visiting, daily lessons in the French language, and recommendations on the most suitable restaurants for evening meals. The location was within a 5...

We had a very nice visit, the b+b was clean, comfy and inviting. The metro station is 2 blocks away, central location of this place is fantastic and very esay access to airport shuttle bus. Our schedule did not permit time for breakfast. I felt this b+b offered great value and would stay here again.

Anne's bed and breakfast is well-cared-for, very clean, and slightly trendy, with bright colors and plants in every room. The bedrooms themselves are tucked away on different floors and nooks—I rarely saw other guests during my stay. And the location couldn't be better. Situated between the Gay Village and the Latin Quarter, the bed and breakfast is within walking distance...

We chose this B&B for the location. It is on a quiet street and close to many attractions. We can confirm the positive reviews on TripAdvisor. It surprised us with the interior that is colorful and friendly to brighten up even a rainy day. We stayed in the room called "Endormeuse" that has a shared bathroom. One can spend some...

In the summer of 2014 a group of 4 friends had the great pleasure to stay on this B&B. We shared two rooms on the lower level. Ann is the best host ever! Her hospitality, attention to detail and how she anticipates the needs of her guests are unique and very much appreciated. She made the difference on a great...

I highly recommend a stay here. The rooms are gorgeous, as Anne clearly has a flair for selecting colours and art pieces. The location is very good -- a very short walk from the strategic Berri-UQAM metro station, and walkable to Old Montreal and the Plateau. Anne also made a fantastic host. She is full of advice if you want...

We had a lovely time staying here. The Picasso room is the only room with a private bath. We did have the whole B&B to ourselves, so we wouldn't have had to share a bathroom with anyone. Regardless, it was nice to have our own. The rooms were comfortable and Anne was quite a charming proprietor. We had lovely breakfasts...

Staying in The Village (Gay Village)

Neighbourhood Profile
The Village (Gay Village)
The rainbow pillars of Beaudry Métro Station shepherd the way into to The Village, one of the largest hubs for gay and lesbian culture in North America. With an open layout and a congenial aura, the refurbished buildings along Rue Sainte-Catherine pay a special homage to menswear and to caffeine, with showrooms and cafes. By morning, the antiquing gems along Amherst Street are packed with collectors. An incredible party spot, The Village comes alive at night, when clubs, bars, and dance halls open their doors and the revelry is high, epitomised by the fanciful trimmings of the apropos Oscar Wilde building. From May to September, the area closes to automotive traffic, allowing restaurant terraces to pour onto the streets, creating a dynamic sense of community. Les Boules Roses, thousands of pink baubles, are hung to welcome in the festivals and celebrations, including Montréal en Arts, Divers-Cité, and the Pride Parade.
