Stayed there for business early September. The location was unbelievable, just great. Close to everything. If you take the elevator to the lowest floors (underground) you will find central station with all kinds of shops and food marts (coffee, bakery, pubs, pharmacy, flower shop, beer&spirits store, etc.) All of this underground - so if it's cold out you stay inside....

Excellent hotel. Excellent price. Very conveniently located. Very quiet both nights. Beds very comfortable. Amazing cleaning lady, friendly and gave us extra coffee :) Several elevators so no wait to get to room.

I was surprised at how small the rooms were...smallest hotel room i have ever stayed in. I would have expected better for $180. On the morning we were checking out, our shower or bath did not work which was pretty upsetting considering we were in a rush to get to a baptism. We let them know as we were checking...

Another disappointing Fairmont hotel that I regarded as basic and very average. A king bed in a spacious room with an average sized bathroom (although bigger than other Fairmonts we had stayed in whilst in Canada). A large wardrobe and a censored fridge with a warning (unlike other Fairmont censored fridges). Ho hum - nothing to write home for.

Service was outstanding. Evening and morning registration desk staff went out of their way to help me recover a phone I left in a cab (got it back!). 5 stars. Unfortunately, the room was like a time warp. Back to the 70s. Depressing colors. I could find only one outlet in the whole room to charge equipment without moving the...

This would have been a 5 star review, however, when we arrived there was someone else's roomservice treats in our room and the Wi-Fi is not free. What hotel doesn't offer free Wi-Fi these days? Other than that, the place is clean and the staff friendly and courteous.

I feel at home at the "Queeny"! I love their high tea, their forthcoming friendliness, their service, their location, the bed comfort, the cleanliness, their tradition, the free WiFi with my President Club. Food is great, staff is very efficient. The central train station is right underneath the hotel, everything downtown is walking distance, airport bus right across the street....

Staying in the Fairmont for the second time and after an efficient and friendly welcome a bit disappointed. Seems to be a significant difference between the Gold floor and the rest which like previous reviewers described it is a bit dated and could do with updating. In particular the bathroom which has a cracked sink, flickering light and has seen...

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighbourhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
