As others have said the hotel is centrally located. It is a big advantage being directly above the Bonaventure station. As a Rewards member I travel a lot and stay almost exclusively at Marriott Hotels. The Chateau Champlain has one of the more friendly front desk, housekeeping, and concierge lounge staff. The fitness center is typical for a large hotel....

Hello Benson50 - thank you for your review. Really appreciate your kind words regarding our staff - this means a great deal to us. As for our lounge offering, indeed with the popularity of our hotel with valued reward members such as yourself, the lounge size has it's limitations. Your notes on our breakfast offering in the lounge are important...

Stayed Feb 18th - 20th. It was a last minute surprise trip to my husband for our wedding anniversary. The hotel itself is nice, rooms a little small but they have floor to ceiling window which was the saving grace....making the room seem larger. The best thing, as others have mentioned, is the location being so close to the train...

Hello Chase2012 - thank you for taking the time to share your review of our hotel. As you note our location does have it's advantage. That noted, I am very sorry to read that your overall experience fell far short of your expectations let alone the impressions we regularly receive from our guests. That's a long review title, but it's true. The property was designed by a Frank Lloyd Wright protege to coincide with Expo 67. We loved the historical details like the big, curved windows in each room (drafty as they were). The room bathroom and closet layout was a little odd too, but the centre ice location (no pun intended with...

The hotel has all the basics and the comfortable beds you expect in a Marriott. The front desk is efficient and the bar staff were good and remembered your order from one day to the next. Good choice at breakfast although it would be nice to have some daylight especially in a city where you have to spend so much...

Functional and clean. Service was very polite and nice. Rooms were basic - no great upgrades at property. The concierge lounge was a bit dated and small - food / snack options were a bit limited at breakfast and evening. It was not a bad property - just nothing special or to pick as a destination.

Hello Travels-with-Michael - thank you for taking the time to post your review. I am sorry to read that overall we left you with no more than an average impression of our hotel. This would suggest there are opportunities for us to improve. Perhaps you will give us a second chance sometime in the future.

I booked my reservation as a Canadian customer from Priceline and charged in USA dollars. In my room no microwave or fridge was available and paid $30 for microwave. Internet wifi was available for only one day. TV was small size and with very bad quality cable service. Hotel was clean and staff was friend but at the end it...

Hi irfan s - thank you for the review. Sorry about wifi it is free no matter how long you stay at our hotel - upgrade options are available for set periods. Perhaps we failed to communicate that more effectively, and I apologize for that. Booking direct with brands (most if not all brands) tends to offer the best price...

the rules were ridiculous! We were there with a hockey group and if we so much as looked at each other in the hallway the hotel security would yell at us. We got in countless arguments with the front desk and nobody on staff apologized for anything. Instead they contacted the tournament planners and flagged our team and almost got...

I stayed at this historic hotel sometime ago for business. What a gorgeous hotel! Its central to all the shops and attractions in Montreal. Will return here just because of the kind service and quality of room this hotel has to offer.

I have stayed at the Marriott twice (2016, 2017) and fully enjoyed my stay on both occasions. The staff are friendly, very courteous and helpful. The rooms are very comfortable and of course the Marriott is in the heart of the Montreal downtown. perfect!

We stayed two nights at the Marriott Chateau Champlain and absolutely loved it. The hotel is located a few minutes walk from the Bell Centre that you can access by the underground tunnels directly from the lobby. Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighbourhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
