This hotel is in a converted modernist office building. Rooms are large and well appointed with modern furniture. The style is dark and severe, but provides a stylish vibe. Hip magazines and books are available on the bedside table, water and chocolate are provided at turndown, and Molton Brown toiletries are in the bathroom. Bed was large and comfortable. Free...

I loved this hotel. The decor is beautiful, the rooms are large and well designed. The service was excellent. Also free wifi. The restaurant in the hotel was amazing - best food I have had in a long time.

Very nice hotel with a fantastic restaurant. Great location, close to Metro. There is a lot of restaurants close to the hotel. Center of Montreal, so you have lot of stores and boutiques. The next trip to Montreal will be at this hotel.

This is a relaxed, comfortable and welcoming place to stay in a perfect location. The concierge knows his job, the rooms are well designed and we loved staying here. It's a little noisy at the moment with roadworks galore and the rooms maybe could do with better soundproofing but only if your neighbors are having an argument! Highly recommend.

Impeccable service, friendly, courteous staff and valet. The room, bathroom and toilet were clean and that is a must for me. The little attention to details make a difference, on the day we were leaving the Valet offered to get us 2 bottles of water for the road. For now, Le Germain is my favourite hotel in Montreal and I...

First time here, I was in town for only one night and chose Le Germain based on a recommendation. The hotel staff were nice, friendly, helpful. The room was great. It had a boutique hotel feel, but was spacious. Loved the closet, odd thing to say but it wasn't your typical hotel room closet but more of a walk-in. Bathroom...

I recently stayed at the Hotel Le Germain. The location is ideal--nearby to restaurants , shopping, and downtown. The Hotel is comfortable, luxurious, quiet, and the staff is most attentive and kind. Breakfast is included in the room rate, which is an added benefit. I recommend it for your next business or pleasure trip to Montreal!

I like this hotel a lot, really nice spacious room, with a nice modern look. Room has a lot of great amenities like mini bar, nespresso machine with real cream in the fridge. Shower was great with nice Milton Brown products. I ate in the hotel restaurant, excellent food, nice presentation and service just a bit on the pricy side....

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighbourhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
