Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.

We arrived not knowing that Le Germain was about to undergo a full refurbishment. The only way that affected our stay was that the restaurant was closed and the breakfast came in a generous cardboard box with a selection of fresh items on offer first...More

Liked the relatively small size of the hotel. Seemed to be much bigger than it was. And it appeared to be in a really good location, walking distance to the major university and other destinations. The House of Jazz is just down the street a...More

Check-in and Check-out in a minute. The bathroom set was complete. I reserved two rooms and the rooms were near each other. Just the breakfast needs to be improved because it's very basic and underneath to the general Hotel value.

Not my first trip to Montreal but decided to chose a hotel afresh looking at ratings vs price. Choosing a boutique hotel can be risky but the location of Le Germain was great, price reasonable and ratings good. I was not disappointed. All of the...More

Le Germain is a great boutique hotel very centrally located. Rooms are well appointed but the key to its success is the team of staff who work there. Everyone is very friendly and service minded from the doormen and breakfast staff to the concierge. Well...More

The blinds are on the bathroom side. Your privacy isn't at all compromised by the blinds - they are over the tub and you can't see through them from the bedroom. There is also a separate room with just the toilet in it... More

I think all the bathrooms are similar in that they have a blind that gives privacy to the shower/bath & basins & the toilet is in a separate room within the bathroom. As I was sharing with my teenage daughter she didn't feel... More
