We just spent 3 nights at this wonderful Hotel. Room was super clean. It has hardwood floor instead of carpets, and you could tell it was cleaned thoroughly. Get a room with a balcony facing West, towards the City and you will enjoy the most amazing views and sunsets while sipping a glasd of wine or tea. The staff were...

Super clean hotel with beautiful view. Rooms were clean and updated, check in was easy, and breakfast was elegant and delicious. Parking was only 19 a day, and if you didn't use the entire day, you were charged only partially. The hotel was conveniently located above the metro, so it was super easy to get around. Only a 20 min...

We spent two nights at Hotel de L'Institut and I would definitely return again. The room was large, modern, had good lighting, had a balcony with room to sit and have a glass of wine or cup of coffee, great bathroom with walk-in shower. Quiet even though it is in a busy neighborhood, my room was over a small side...

Our hotel was right on St-Denis Street, which is full of restaurants and shops. At our arrival we went for nachos at a nice restaurant. For dinner, we went at Les Trois Brasseurs which was very good before going next door to Theatre St-Denis to see Mary Poppins. The room was very nice. It was located on the 7th floor...

Has Bixi nearbly and is a short walk to St. Laurent and Vieux Montreal. Dining rooms has also been upgraded and is now located on main floor. Concierge was...

I'm of two minds ... Keep this my little secret, or let people know about its accessible room. I guess I'm letting everyone know. The room was well appointed with a roll-in shower. Bathroom was spacious, with a good turning radius at the near side of the bed. A bit tight at the foot of the bed for my manual...

The hotel is located in the Latin Quarter of the city. There are many good restaurants around the hotel so you will be spoilt for choice when it comes to food. The hotel is also within easy walking distance of the downtown area making shopping convenient. Service at the hotel was good although some of the front desk staff struggled...

I went to Montreal with my niece and booked a suite at Hotel de l'Institut based on the recommendation of a friend, and he was so right! The room was really gorgeous, with a balcony that overlooked the city, and the neighborhood was wonderful, particularly the restaurants and cafes all along Rue St Denis. We parked our car in the...

Hotel l'Institut was a great little find for our Montreal 4 night stay. Occupying only the 6th and 7th floors of the cooking and hotel school's high rise gives it a boutique feeling. The students who served us were earnest and eager to please, especially Cedric. The included breakfast was quite nice. We slept well in the nicely air conditioned...

I stayed in a balcony room on the 7th floor over a weekend in mid-August 2016. We arrived early after disembarking from a cruise in Montreal and didn't expect our room to be ready - and it wasn't. However, staff was very friendly and stored our bags. The Sherbrooke Metro stop is literally right next door - about 50' from...

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colourful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
