I got my room last minute on HotelTonight (great app). I looked at the reviews and they were mixed. I stayed in room 222 if that helps with future booking. It had 15 to 20 foot ceilings, hand carved fire place, nice bathroom, and the room was large. It was open to the street but was quiet. Even in the...

We always stay at the Chateau Versailles when we are in Montreal and have for many years now. The location suits us to a T and the staff are always attentive. This was the first time that we have had problems and there were two, both quite large. The first was the room. While they advised us that it was...

My wife and I just returned from a weekend in Montreal during which we stayed at the Chateau Versailles for three nights. It is nice and reasonably well located. The hotel is a former mansion and the decorations are really nice. The room we had was small but adequate; however, there was no desk. The bathroom was small but clean...

I highly recommend this charming boutique hotel in the central part of Montreal, near everything that makes a visit memorable. Shopping and restaurants abound. One of Montreal's finer museums is almost next door as is the Ritz Carlton which is a fun destination for tea where you can enjoy the white ducks swimming right next to you. The service is...

This hotel was very different to the high rise hotel we had left behind in Toronto. It was a small cottage style hotel but very cosy and comfortable. All the staff were friendly, and didn't make you feel awkward for speaking broken french! The hotel is in a good location, slightly out of the centre, but close to Guy-Concordia metro...

By no means a chateau and nothing in common with Versailles, but the best thing about this hotel is its very friendly, welcoming and helpful staff. Le Boudoir is a pleasant room in which to sit and where breakfast is served. There are few conventional tables and chairs to make this a good venue in which to eat and some...

Dear Guest, Thank you for providing us with your feed back from your recent stay The Chateau Versailles is over 100 years old, and the vibrant colors of orange and yellow adorn all of our rooms, we thought it would provide a nice blend of comptemorary colors meeting a nice vintage feeling. We definately will take your comments into consideration...

We first stayed at the CV in 1993 and it proved to be a highlight of that Canadian trip. We had no hesitation in heading back there when we visitied Montreal this May. What I remembered was the ambience of a boutique hotel in an old building with tasteful decor and helpful staff. I'm glad to report that those are...

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighbourhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
