Typically if have stayed at a large chain on this trip but the friend I was going with wanted his own room so we decided to save a few bucks and stay here. Rooms are very spacious and clean. Was upgraded to a king room. Breakfast included was fresh and more than enough unless you need the bacon. You can...

Loved everything about this place. Old building but has tons of charm. The front desk staff was extremely helpful and went out of their way to give us recommendations for places to visit around the city during our stay. Will definitely be returning!

We visit Montreal occasionally to drop in our daughter who is a student at McGill University. Chateau Versailles was a great find. The room was comfortable and well appointed. I loved the old building and the history associated with it. No elevator, but climb to second floor was not arduous. Endless supply of pain au chocolat on breakfast bar.

The hotel is well located in downtown Montreal, even though it's very hard to find parking and the hotel's parking is totally overpriced. We got a room with a queen bed for Valentine's day, the room looked clean but if you took a deeper look it wasn't really. Under the bed, we found empty bottles of water and the plastic...

Our stay was exceptional from the moment we entered. It started with a free upgrade. The room was large, clean and comfortable. The bed was very nice. All of the staff were friendly and went out of their way to get an answer if they did not have the info. The hotel is well situated downtown and only about a...

Knowing that our stay would be in an authentic century old building, I did not expect our room to be as comfortable as it was. The location is fantastic for being close to the downtown Montreal scene, and the art gallery, and the eateries. I will definitely recommend this location if you like to experience a unique accommodation.

Nice cozy stay in the heart of Montreal. Princella, at front desk did all to make our stay even more comfortable. However, the breakfast could have been much better when compared to places of similar stature. By the no lifts in the property is compensated by the Bell boys who are handy to shift your luggage down to the room....

Our organization had meetings in Montreal and stayed here. I enjoyed it. Comfortable beds and a nice setting. A few things are dated, and the location isn't ideal if you are looking to spend time in Old Montreal. About a $15 cab ride gets you there though. It is great value though and a very nice place to stay that...

Old and drab upgraded to a room with fireplace for free but it was on the fourth floor no elevator no need for fireplace as heat rises and couldn't use it too hot. Valet parking but we were not informed it was on another street in their sister hotel parking lot and a $27.00 charge and not very convenient if...

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighbourhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
