This hotel is very well located in downtown Montreal. That's about the only advantage as the parking place we were given underground (E level) had no elevator which forces you to walk up to the D level to geab one. The room very simple (like a road motel room) and had an old carpet. We expected a much better room...

Dear Guest, Thank you for sharing your experience at the Novotel Montreal Centre, and for pointing out the areas we should improve. We are actually in the process of replacing the carpets in our rooms. As the parking is available to the public, it can happen that free spaces are only available on the E level. We apologize for the...

My wife and I stayed at the hotel in mid-October of 2012 for two nights. We liked the hotel and for the price that we paid we did not expect any luxury and got a decent room and service. This all changed when I realized (after we checked out) that I had forgotten my suit hanging in the closet of...

Dear Guest, Thank you for sharing your experience and for bringing out the points you would like us to work on to improve our customer service. From my conversation with Miss Bertoli, our Front Office Manager, I believe you were able to speak to her the very next day after your departure. Unfortunately, she informed you that we couldn’t find...

Quite good hotel, the only issue I had is that they was under the lobby rennovation, so the checking area and the looby was kindda messy. Room was great, nothing really to complain about it. It`s very close to the subway station, which is under the Bell Centre.

Dear Guest, Thank you for sharing your experience at the Novotel Montreal Centre. When you stayed at our property last year, our lobby was indeed under renovation: it had become a necessity to renovate the entire space to meet our client expectations. We apologize for the inconvenience , and hope that you will soon come back to see the great...

We really liked this hotel. It was our first stay in a Novotel. The room was smaller than standard American hotels, but it was very comfortable, and the decor was very nice, and different than what we are used to. The staff were very nice and helpful. The location is great - only a block from Rue Crescent with lots...

First off, I tend to be a bit fo a miser when giving out stars so don't let the 3 stars turn you off. This is a nice hotel, clean and with the basics. Nothing fancy here but the price is right and the location is excellent. There are several very good restaurants right on this street and you are...

We found the Novotel to be a very average hotel in Montreal the lobby and hallways suggested the hotel had a refurb however the rooms I don't think had been refurbed. The wi-fi was at an additional cost which was disappointing, the cost for parking was reasonable. One thing that I disliked was you couldn't use the fridge as it...

Located in downtown Montreal, walking distance to Bell Centre, St-Catherine Street, shopping, and many good places to eat. I found their restaurant a bit pricy and preferred to eat elsewhere. My only disappointment with this hotel is the $10.00 fee for wifi in the room.

Not too bad at all, this hotel - a good location just a few minutes from the main shopping centre, and comfortable rooms. The hotel's breakfast was good (even if the staff were slow at clearing previous diners' plates); the paid-for wifi at $10 a night seemed decent quality too (though it really shouldn't be paid-for). On the downside -...

We stayed here for a week whilst visiting family in Montreal; the hotel was recommended by our travel agent and I can see why. It's very centrally located, just 5 minutes walk from the metro station and 30 seconds to the nearest Starbucks for breakfast, if you don't want the hotel hot buffet (which was actually very good) at $23....

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighbourhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
