Our second visit to this hotel was just as we wanted. We booked a room with a river view and found it relaxing evening in early November to look out over the harbor. First impressions are important. We drove to Montreal and when we arrived at the hotel Frederick was there to help with our luggage and valet parking while...

The hotel is at a very safe location and convenient walking distance for all the tourist spots. I like the lobby design . I wanted to pointed out that two staffs treated me very well, Maureen working in the bar breakfast who always cares of your needs before you even think of, and Matthieu who are in the lobby always...

You can tell I like this place because it's my second stay here this year, with multiple prior visits as well. Staff, as always, was so solicitous, and I give a special hats off and thank you to Lara Grafin, who assisted us with a small issue. Top-notch service from all of the desk staff and parking valets, as well...

First and foremost I must specify that the staff was simply amazing. From the valet to the person at the reception not forgetting the concierge, every one made this stay a outstanding moment for my beau and I. We had a room facing the water and sitting on the window ledge we could admire the beautiful sunset as the city slowly...

Bonjour jay116, We appreciate you sharing your experience you had with us and would like to reassure you that all of our rooms are different. One of the nicest hotels I have stayed in for a long time. The staff were great, the room was just perfect with beautiful high ceiling and the noise from the road was minimal. Also the cafe/bar next door is really buzzy in the evening and just great for a really good and inexpensive breakfast.

Located in the wharf section of town (read "touristy") the Auberge de Vieux Port took care of our needs nicely. Short walk to the Archeological Museum, port, many restaurants, the Cathedral of Notre Dame, and other historical sights. Pluses were the included breakfast in their restaurant - quite delicious and service was excellent - the musical touches throughout, and the...

Wonderfully and conveniently located in the old part of Montreal, the hotel Auberge du Vieux-Port is a charming boutique hotel. Rooms are nicely appointed and built into a structure (building) that dates back hundreds of years. Super friendly staff, centrally located, quality room furnishings, and on-property dining makes the Auberge du Vieux-Port hotel a great choice for anyone visiting Montreal.

From the moment we arrived, the hotel staff and management afforded us Five Star treatment. After a week's absence and return to the hotel, the staff remembered our names and where we had gone. Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighbourhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic centre of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its centre, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theatre.

A symbol of Old Montreal's rich history, Auberge du Vieux-Port is the area's only hotel settled along the Saint Lawrence River. The two structures that house its 45 rooms are over a century and a half old and once operated as warehouses, back when the waterway still forged city's life vein. With a classic, skillfully crafted make up, the idyllic inn's decor and architecture breathe an air of authenticity.
