My husband and I just returned from a long weekend to celebrate our wedding anniversary and we had the good fortune to stay at Le Petit Hotel. The young and energetic staff were uniformly pleasant and the continental breakfast just perfect -- great coffee, artisan breads, fresh fruit salad and yogurt. Our room was luxurious, with more jets in the...

Small boutique hotel in St. Paul St of old Montreal - great position for old port and some fab restaurants within short distance. Room was large but external air con units on roof are noisy so ask for room on second or third floor. Staff really friendly and helpful and good suggestions re restaurants. Free bike hire which you should...

The hotel is located on a nice street of the old town with some fine restaurants around it. It is also chic, clean and modern looking. But the service I got was so below the average I had to call in the manager. He apologized and the next day when I got back, I saw an apology card and a...

Came here off of a cruise ship, and most of the guests seemed to have arrived in similar fashion. Great modern boutique hotel in a good location. We chose a large room, and I requested one that was quiet and not near the elevator (read prior reviews for tips.) I got exactly what I requested, a good sized room not...

Spa like bathroom, rather small but high-end finishings and clean. Room was great and the ambiance was outstanding. It is expensive but worth it if you want the Olde Montreal experience. We walked everywhere from there. Gourmet coffees and croissant/pastries in the morning was beautiful. Staff was great. Highly recommend this location.

Perfect, small boutique hotel located on a scenic street. Cosy room with a super comfortable bed. Breakfast was excellent….fresh pastries, fruit, yogurt and the best cappuccino. Lovely staff! I highly recommend this hotel!

This hotel is small, but you can't beat the location and ambiance. I like how the furniture in the rooms is modern and you're greeted in the lobby with mint or fruit water. Everyone was amicable and accommodating. I'm a foodie, so I was dying to try Chuck Hughes' restaurant. I couldn't get a reservation online, but the front desk...

We stayed for 2 nights at the hotel in a very large room on the ground floor. Unfortunately, it was located to a side road which was quite noisy, but since we did not open the windows, we could sleep perfectly. All staff was very friendly and always ready to help and advice. Breakfast was a wonderful surprise with gluten...

I chose this hotel from Tripadvisor and was not disappointed. This is an absolutely charming boutique hotel where personal unobtrusive service is the order of the day. Nothing is too much trouble to accommodate their guests. The room, which was large and attractively decorated, had an extremely comfortable kingsized bed and the bathroom and shower facilities together with robes, slippers...

I found Le Petit Hotel on TripAdvisor. The hotel is very small and quaint - just 28 rooms. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our room was sparkling clean, sunny and comfortable. Our room had a large walk in shower that was heavenly after I figured out how to turn on the shower head and not just the jets....

Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighbourhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic centre of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its centre, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theatre.
