I stay at Celebrities Hotel as part of my bank credit reward. Was a bit skeptic from others' reviews. Yes, the hotel do need some TLC with their rooms. (walk up, no elevators) The minute we walked in, we were greeted by friendly staff till the day we left. Although not all of them speak fluent English, which we didn't...

No frills here! This hotel has a GREAT location; about 0.3 miles from the Berri UQAM Metro Station, and <5 minutes from tea/coffee shops, food, bars, grocery stores and more. The hotel itself is quaint, clean, and well-maintained. There is free coffee and tea available 24 hours a day with cream & sugar. I had room 306 (Cedar Room): the...

It is a quirky hotel with original rooms of a good size, short walking distance to the harbour area, and a reasonable stroll down town (20+minutes). Far better than staying in a standard hotel room! Friendly staff Our room was very hot because the air conditioner wasn't powerful enough to cope with the size of room. On a cooler day...

The staff was friendly. We stayed at a room that's on the first floor. There was no problem with the room we stayed at, however, there can be LOTS of updates for this place. The heating system, the building it self and the room. You can tell it's obviously a bit outdated. The washroom can be designed better as well....

From the moment I stepped through the door of this hotel to the moment I left, I received excellent customer service from all of the reception clerks. The room was well decorated and clean. There was a microwave oven and a small fridge, amenities that I appreciate. There was no hairdryer. The WIFI worked well. The location could not have...

This hotel was picked for me with a group on a bachelor party weekend. Money seems to be the top motivating factor for the pick. It was insanely cheap with the strong U.S. dollar. You really do get what you pay for. I'd suggest staying at this hotel if you are tight on money, don't need or like a clean...

Who really helped me in a difficult situation. In general, a very good quality for its price, the location is great, the decoration is lovely. The room was a bit dark, but it's completely fine for short stays

Stayed for 2 nights in July, wasn't able to check in until half hour after check-in. Got the key and walking up the stairs, we were stopped by the cleaning lady who said our room still wasn't ready. Everything was fine afterwards. We stayed in the Audrey suite on the 4th floor, weird layout but if there was a budget...

Our room 202 was very small and needs remodeling. with that being said we only paid 60.00 dollars for the room at peak season when the Jazz festival was going on. So I was not unhappy for the price. They had other nicer rooms for more money.

Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
Bakeries, markets, restaurants, and buffets crowd the brightly graffitied streets of Chinatown, the city's aromatic destination for pan-Asian cuisine. Distinguished at its entry points by towering vermillion paifang gates, the compact neighbourhood acts as a focal point for the Chinese community, hectic with educational facilities, cultural centres, acupuncturists, and foreign-language newspapers. Especially vibrant in the warmer months, when the sweet smell of dragon beard candy along the pedestrian walks of Rue de la Gauchetière signal the beginning of the outdoor street fair season, Chinatown is a treasure hunter's dream, with enough knickknack and curiosity shops to tempt even the pickiest shoppers. The convivial vibe picks up after dark, when the area's active nightlife offers evening crowds their choice of drink, dance, and midnight snacks of pho or oysters. Chinatown's mix of new and old, with herbal remedies being sold alongside pop-culture DVDs, gives the area its own animated brand of moxie.
