My teenage daughter and I stayed for 4 nights at the St. Denis location and absolutely loved it! We weren't sure what to expect and were so pleasantly surprised when we arrived! The beautiful hardwood floors were stunning. The rooms were spotlessly clean. Not quite downtown but near the wonderful Jean Talon market. Greg recommended a quaint and fabulous French bistro...

9 et demie is not fancy, but it has a great vibe. You feel right at home and comfortable. The rooms are simple, but well designed. The kitchen, dining room, and patio are great. Shared baths and no AC, but the price is right. And the location on Blvd St. Laurent was just right for me. It was all good....

My husband and I stayed here, at the St. Denis location, for three nights in May and had a really enjoyable time. Greg stayed up to meet us upon our arrival, which was terribly late because of traffic, and continued to show perfect hospitality the entire time we were there. The B&B is in a lovely old building with lots...

Hello, My wife and I wanted to spend a few days in Montreal. We found this B&B in a french guide book and we weren't disappointed ! Jean, the owner, was extremely sympathetic and explain to us the town and its main attraction. Moreover, he doesn't hesitate to grab a coffee with the customers during the breakfasts. We paid 75$...

I warmly recommand this place, where I was very well welcomed and adviced on what to do in Montreal. The atmosphere is great, with nice living room, kitchen and very nice rooms. The quality of the service is excellent in regard of the cheap price. Definitely a place to go!

A B & B different from the others...You feel like you are at a friends place. You don't have the little lady always checking what you're doing or where you been (and what you've done!!!)...Actually, it's two young guys that run the place, they are super cool, they tell you about good places to eat or go out...And the place...

Le 9 1/2 seems like a cross between a small hotel and a hostel. We had our own room with a double bed but then shared two bathrooms between five or six orther rooms. Also available to us was a living area, large dining area with a computer, a kitchen, a front porch and a private back porch. The kitchen...

Le 9 et Demi was the first place my boyfriend and I stayed at travelling from London to Montreal and we were really impressed. The staff greet you with a warm welcome and give you helpful tips on places to visit/where to eat etc. The location is brilliant because you are within walking distance of all amenities - shops, restaurants,...

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colourful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
8 years ago while managing a youth hostel I realized there wasn't anything that had the spirit of a youth hostel but with the intimacy of a bed and breakfast and the warmth of a guesthouse: not long after the 9 1/2 was born. 8 years later tons of people have gotten in the game offering rooms thru Airbnb but nothing is better than dealing with professionals. This is what we do, this is our business, this is what we love doing: Making your trip to Montreal the best possible. We now have two places: Two different looks but the same vibe, the same services and the same spirit!! ... more   less
