Diane made us feel so welcome. A fantastic home base from which to explore Montreal. The rooms are beautiful and the host Diane was very helpful... offered us great advice on what to do and where to go. The breakfast table was a great experience for more than just the tasty treats... we were exposed to the french language while...

We stayed here two nights on our cycling tour and the owner, Diane, was very accomodating in letting us drop our bikes and gear off very early (10am) on the first day and then leaving it until the afternoon on the day we left - even though she wasn't home. This made it much easier for us. The room itself...

My boyfriend and I really lucked out when we found out about Le Rayon Vert B & B in the Mont Royal section of Montreal. For about $80 a night we had a great room (clean and comfortable), breakfast, and hospitality in walking distance of excellent restaurants and bars. Diane, the owner, made us feel as comfortable as if it...

The good: Decent location if you like a lot of walking (which I do) to the different areas. Very nice breakfast. The owner chooses what to make but it was all very tasty. Good sized rooms. The bad: The room faced the street, and the floors were very squeaky so if you're a light sleeper you may be disturbed easily....

I had such a lovely stay at le rayon vert. Diane was very welcoming and fun to talk to. She made great suggestions for places to go around the area. I stayed for the first time at the Rayon Vert in the Plateau area of Montreal on January 11,12 and 13 for a congress at the Place Bonaventure. I found the B&B on tripadvisor from New Zealand. Although I was alone, the owner made me very welcome, and the old, character home in the heart of the French speaking (and...

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colourful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
