Excellent location, nice rooms and very friendly owners. I came at midnight and had no problem with the self check in. At breakfast, I particularly enjoyed the yogurt that was done crème brûlée style.

The location was good for us as we were looking for a quiet neighborhood walking distance from the bus station (10 minutes) and the old town (20 minutes). We stayed on the top floor in the back in a room called deMaisonneuve. We got no neighborhood noise. There was some internal noise from the bathroom next to our room. But...

Gingerbread Manor not only provides a place to sleep but lively entertainment as one of their amenities! And Ephraim's macrons! Totally delicious! The boys are totally engaging, full of fun, teasing, and jokes! Make sure to get a spot in the parking garage since parking outside is limited. You will be glad you did. Here I sit at work, wishing...

We are overjoyed that you enjoyed staying with us. Ephraim works hard to make those macaron and come up with unusual and interesting flavours. His white chocolate & wasabi are back in stock and he made Irish Cream last time.... and such a nice add-on! You made our day with your review. Thanks!

Enjoyed our stay at the Gingerbread! Our Host's were knowledge on the sites of the City + Restaurant recommendations. Ephraim prepared awesome breakfasts with tasty homemade preservers. Great location near Metro, easy walking distance to Old Montreal and downtown. Beautiful Neighborhood, close to shops and restaurants.

Charming b&b very well located in the heart of Montreal. The bed was comfortable and the room was very clean. We also loved the breakfast !One of the host made blueberry pancakes and they were fabulous. Would recommend to reserve one of the two parking spot available in the inside garage (10$ per day). Would certainly go back again when I'll...

I agree with previous reviewer. One of the owners has a very superior attitude. We enjoy B and Bs because it usually affords us an opportunity to learn and share in the locality. In this case it was very uncomfortable as most of the conversation was critical of "Americans". Location was very close to public transport. Guest rooms and bathrooms...

We regret you didn't enjoy your stay. Yes, as you noted, we are proudly Canadian, but that does not mean we dislike guests from other countries. We're proud of our heritage as you are of yours. As we hope all guests are proud of where they live. Every country is different, different isn't better or worse, it's just different. If...

The location is great, close to the metro, a lovely park and streets with many restaurants. The house is a beautiful old residence, on a shady street and with secure private parking available for a fee. The bathrooms are modern and kept clean and nice. The savoury hot breakfast was excellent, and the sweet one well prepared and presented but...

As you said, most of the issues you raised could have been solved had you told us immediately, rather than wait until you were home to write about it. Bringing it up now doesn't allow us, as innkeepers, to help you in any way. As we cater to a multitude of world travellers, we cannot please everyone, but we appreciate...

A nice bandb in a great location on a very nice street in Montreal, but one of the Neumans doesn't seem to think too highly of Americans and neither volunteers much helpful info. They've been running banbs for a long time so there might be a little burnout. Still a nice place that cold be better with more hospitality.

My husband and I just returned from our holiday in Montreal and have to reiterate (from other reviews) how absolutely wonderful the stay at the Gingerbread Manor was. Ephraim is quite the host with his wonderful way with quests. He tells many jokes and tales which we found funny and made us feel at home. Yves and Ephraim are founts...

The B&B is located in an area called "Plateau Mont Royal", just few minutes walk from the city center. It's an old Victorian manor and that means that you have to face a steep wood staircase to get to 1st or 2nd floor, where rooms are. Anyway, rooms are clean and comfortable, with A/C, some with private bath and others...

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colourful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
