I took a long weekend to Toronto and this was the perfect location for everything I wanted to do. I was able to walk there from the bus station, stopping at Tim Horton's on the way. The staff gave a wonderful tour and run down of everything included- which was a lot. One of my favorite parts was that you... More

This hostel has to be almost one of the best. It's very clean and very hotel like. Free breakfast consists of bananas, cereal or bagels. Also on Saturdays they have a free bbq which was awesome, and the burgers were really tasty. The rooftop is a plus.. Very good views of the city. More space in the rooms would have... More

This hostel is ideal and should be used as a role model! Friendly staff with a good knowledge, clean, modern and safe. The beautiful roof top is used for barbecues, arranged by the hostel, and breakfast is included. The hostel is a located a few blocks from the city centre and the street cars (trams) stops outside.

Really great location, quick walk to the streetcars to Union Station. Clean room and bathroom, breakfast was fantastic and the kitchen was never too busy. Rooftop views were fantastic as well. Staff were very polite and explained how everything worked as well as showed me to my room (which a lot of places are too lazy to do).

Had the best experience at this hostel compared to others by far. Staff are friendly, rooms are on the small side but it wasn't really a big deal and they were always very clean. Breakfast was bagels, toast and cereal and went on till 1pm which was fab if you wanted a lie in. Lots going on almost every night... More

We stayed 4 nights in the Planet Traveller and we already miss it! What a great atmosphere ! The location is perfect, it's surrounded by many restaurants and bars and close to a street-cars line. The staff is smiling and helpful. They organize activities every day: pub crawl, karaoke, movie night and BBQ on the rooftop. And what a view... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
