Great location but room needs updating. Shower in room 405 was so small I had trouble turning around in it. The whole place smells old ( it is ) and stale. Needs less attention to art and more to functional amenities of a decent hotel, like updated bathrooms, air quality and quieter heat/air systems. Nice people work here, however.

The positives are the very friendly staff and the excellent food at the restaurant. The hotel sells itself as a trendy boutique hotel : which means that guests should be impressed by small, noisy, shabby chic rooms in a dilapidated area of town. There was, a fun- quirky feel to the rooms: but the view of railway tracks, abandoned shops...

The hotel is beautiful and all the rooms are so interesting, the service was amazing and everyone was very accommodating. Also the coffee in the morning was really good too and probably saved our lives a little 😂

We stayed in room 314 and loved the decor. It was quiet and overlooked a Main Street. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom spacious. We attended a wedding at the hotel and everything was lovely. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. The staff go out of their way. My only complaint is the we didn't have more time!...

I had a stay-cation at the Gladstone Hotel in February and I've been back multiple times since then for events, dinner and even to work by myself in the cafe! Walking into the Gladstone instantly makes me feel cooler than I have any right to be - there is so many art and design features to enjoy (the Cowboy elevator!...

Love the Gladstone - great food and superior service no matter when you're there. If that's not enough it feels like you're staying in a supremely cool art gallery, there's always something new to hear, see or do there. Highly recommend!

I've come to the Gladstone dozens of times for brunch, drinks and karaoke. But was gifted a 2 night stay as a birthday present from my husband (some time away from my kids!!). The room was perfect - super cool decor and design. The service was so friendly and accommodating and the coffee outside the room in the morning was...

The Gladstone is a very artsy hotel, which may not appeal to everyone, but I loved it! The exhibitions are scattered around the hotel and each rooms is designed uniquely. Very beautiful! The room we stayed in was quite small and due to location there is some noise form traffic, but it's nothing that will keep you up at night....

The artist exhibition gallery style hotel. Great location. Love the old fashion 100 year old elevator! Spotted a mural by Shepard Fairey on the back wall! Go to the North of Brooklyn pizza place close by for a slice of heaven!

Perfectly sufficient hotel. Room design was a bit much and could have been cleaner. No issues with service in cafe or with front desk. We visited this hotel for a wedding so our experience might vary compared to other guests. Wish the location of paid parking was communicated better prior to checkin to avoid having to pull over on the...

Staying in West End

Neighbourhood Profile
West End
The go-to area for new business start-ups, the spry and creative persona of the West End thrives along its streets. Its independent boutiques, galleries, restaurants, and shops offer brands that can't be found elsewhere. Buildings with ground floor consumer spaces sport up-top artist's lofts, and the West End attracts artists, designers, and fashion industry professionals to its living quarters. It is in the cross-hairs of gentrification, but still resisting it with ironic relish. Hot deals can still be found here on furniture and knick-knacks,. Its call to culinary glory is in its well-priced homemade Polish food, hosting Toronto's go-to spots for hot pierogis and cold borscht. High Park, the largest green space in the city, is a place for dreamers and poets to wander and rest, not to mention a number of energetic actors staging outdoor plays in the summertime.
