Great location; really comfortable bed but wish I had a stapler to tack the sheets down; $36 a day to park your car; $12 a day for wifi; too many over priced snacks and liquor options crowding the kitchen counter and fridge (in other words barely room for your St. Lawrence market purchased wine bottle and cold cuts); only one...

The Cosmopolitan hotel is very well located in downtown Toronto. Most of the famous sights (like CN tower, Hockey Hall of fame...) as well as the King station subway stop are in walking distance. We found a clean, well-sized room with a little kitchen. The staff was very kind and helpful. As our first room was a little noisy we...

The Cosmopolitan offers a pleasant Toronto stay... if your expectations match the hotel's amenities and policies. This review is based on staying four nights in an upgraded 18th-floor "Lotus Suite." First the pluses: Great central location, within easy walking distance of many restaurants (see my Toronto restaurant reviews) and shopping choices, movie theater, attractions and entertainment venues. We especially enjoyed...

We were pleasantly surprised with our stay here...we found the price was great especially for being in downtown Toronto. Our view from the 24th floor was amazing and loved seeing the full moon reflected on the lake at night:) The bed was very comfortable and we found the space was well designed and plenty of room for a short stay....

The Cosmopolitan offered a nice departure from the typical arrow directions to blocks of room on each floor standard I'm accustomed to at large hotels. The rooms were clean and not overly crowded with furniture, but still had lots of essentials such as dishwasher, washer and dryer and toaster, so that you felt like you were staying in an efficiency....

Nothing at this hotel was as advertised. The calm, atmosphere was nonexistent. The lobby was noisy except during the early morning. We were disturbed by street noise on the 19th floor, the tiny room was cramped and did not even have a place to hang clothes. The hotel information book claims that things like breakfast and wifi are available for...

High room rate did not include any perks like parking, breakfast or wireless internet access. Noisy bar crowd made lobby conversation impossible. Room was nice but spare. Someone designed a hotel room without a closet for a garment bag! We didn't need the kitchenette, declined to take advantage of the costly mini-bar or the exhorbitant "continental" breakfast. $17.95 per person...

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.

“Take an upper floor room, could get noisy on the lower floors.”

“A note that there is still work being done in some of the hotel suites and so there could be some noise associated with that. Also, there are other buildings under construction around the property, so you will hear some noise from that, but not so intrusive that it will interfere with your enjoyment. ”
of 5 bubbles StonebridgeFoodie, 8 Jan 2017 | Read review
“Ask for extra plates, pans, pots, cutlery, kettle, paper towels before you head up to your room, most likely they are missing anyway. Don't buy too many things that need a fridge, there was barely any room in the mini-fridge if you plan on cooking and keeping food in there. ”
