Really appreciated the set up of the room and the Bose Bluetooth speaker was a simple and easy way for me to create the mood for our first anniversary. Julian at the front desk was very informative and helpful too.

Loved this hotel! Traveled solo. First time in Toronto. The staff was sooooo friendly, from the time I called about my flight delay to the time I needed a car to the airport (the manager walked me out to my car!). The food is incredible. Bed Sooo comfortable. Everything in the room was fitted and organized and designed to perfection....

Fabulous, hip, trendy, cool and happening - this place has got it all going on! The hotel was always filled with an eclectic-mix of interesting, out-there folks and always had a brilliant "buzz" about the place....whether you were eating the fabulous breakfast in the coffee-shop, or hanging out in the Lounge listening to the DJ's mixes - it was always...

A funky old renovated gem in trendy Queen west. The friendly staff reveals employee happiness from the top down. We crashed there in an ice storm-well-because, but because we could! Glad we did. The food was great- try the burger. Oysters from Oyster Boy- the best seafood place in the city, happens to be close to the hotel. We stayed...

Stayed at the Drake Hotel over American Thanksgiving. The hotel is small probably only about 20-30 rooms total if that. Their is a concert venue in the basement, a restaurant off the lobby, a coffee bar, and a second floor bar with a small roof deck. It is located on Queen Street which is a hipster sort of neighborhood and...

Absolutely incredible place that I would love to visit again! The room was great and packed with everything I needed (including snacks and booze), and loved the two bars on the premises - location can't be beat!

We have never stayed at the hotel so can't comment on that aspect but we've been to the restaurant multiple times and we have attended a few events here. We've always had a great time. Their cocktails are amazing and very interesting! The food is great. They have this poetry jam in the basements that we just kind of stumbled...

While the hotel itself lived up to the majority of the hype, there were a number of minor niggles that edged that 5/5 rating just out of reach. However, that aside, the hotel itself oozes character, with the vibrant and bustling atmosphere, through to the quirky interior and staff. From the moment you step foot through the door at The...

I did not know what to expect and loved the quirkiness of the boutique hotel. The room reminded me of the Yotel in New York. Small but efficient. The room was comfortable and very modern. Lots of delicious looking snacks and wonderful toiletries that were available for purchase at the Drake General Store.

I have stayed at this hotel several times in the two years and overall the experience has been absolutely amazing. We were upgraded to a Den on our first visit, but have stayed in a Nook every time since then. The room may be small, but the decor and the atmosphere is unlike anything I have experienced before. The beds...

Staying in Queen Street and West Queen West

Neighbourhood Profile
Queen Street and West Queen West
Known as the Art & Design District, West Queen West is one of the most energetic and dynamic of Toronto's neighborhoods. Along with its great modernist museums, clubs, and restaurants, it's home to some of the funkiest specialty shops, ranging from clothing to stationary to collectables, and caters to niche and vintage shoppers of all kinds. That makes it a mecca for creatives, including hobbyists designers, writers, and painters. With ink on their hands and fabric pelts in their bags, visitors to Queen Street traverse the avant-garde blend of historic architecture and ultra-contemporary fare. Home to some of Toronto's chicest hotels and most modish java fixes, busy with street cars, and always suffused with live music drifting onto packed patios at bars and clubs by nightfall, the vibrancy of West Queen West is undeniable.
