I just spent a wonderful weekend at the at the Shangri-La Hotel in Toronto. From the moment we arrived the staff called us by name and cared about every detail of our stay. The hotel is beautifully appointed, and well located. It is in the heart of the Theater district and steps away from Queen Street West - an attraction,...

Great Easter weekend stay - hotel is friendly, great restaurant and good location Great check in experience with Jeff (we think), we were offered a good rate to upgrade to a suite with a view of the CN tower which we accepted. He also offered us late checkout which was appreciated. Room was lovely, very comfy bed and quality toiletries....

Amazing lobby with generous lounge and restaurant. Asian antiques, real or faux, are sprinkled through the lobby and even in the halls to the rooms. Rooms spacious and well-appointed, though minimal views for many due to location. Staff is overtly friendly and kind. When a request for fragrance free shampoo (made with reservation and confirmed)was forgotten, staff responded with a...

On a short trip to Toronto we stayed at the Shangri-La Hotel. The check-in went quickly, and we were able to access our room early in the day. The room was quiet, clean, and well appointed with all the features you'd expect from a luxury hotel. The bath products were very nice, and there were plenty of towels, and good...

Spent 2 nights on business. Everything about this place is impeccable. Rooms are wonderful, staff are super helpful, food is amongst the best in the city. Incredible attention to detail. The biggest thing is that service is great and completely invisible. Rooms cleaned, bed turned down - but you never see staff. It just happens.

This is my absolute favourite hotel to stay at when I am in town! The staff, the grounds, the service are absolutely 5-star! I was in for business just for 1 night, and from the time I entered to the time I left, the staff were so amazing, courteous, and attentive that I was truly sad to leave!

Staying in Downtown West

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
