This is a very old house, not a hotel, not a bed an brakfast. it does not have receptión area, when we got there there was not even a ring bell, we had to call. the room was very small, bathroom is too small only for Slim people, the shower is small as well, only good for 1 small person....

We stayed on a recent trip to Toronto. Staff are at the desk only until 7 pm and if you are going to stay later they will send you an email with instructions on how to get into the hotel. We were staying with our young son and we mentioned that when we booked online - they had a pack...

My daughter and I stayed in the front room on the main floor with the twin beds. Room is small but adequate and the high ceiling and windows made the room feel more spacious. Clean, comfortable, excellent location - we were entirely satisfied and would not hesitate to stay there again.

Guest house is exactly as advertised. Would stay again without hesitation. Excellent value. It's clean and comfortable. Great location, close to subway and various amenities. 5 stars for what it is. This is not the Hyatt but it's affordable and clean, albeit a little compact but just fine for me. I had one of the basement suites and although there's...

We booked the room with a balcony to enjoy the vibes of the city. The room was efficient, but would prove difficult for the "super sized" customers. The staff was very responsive and the location was very close to the subway station. The rehab of an old building was charming at a distance, but up close revealed enthusiastic but amatuer attempts. The location is...

The room was clean, comfortable, and, while it was snug, it provided all that we needed (closet, desk, coffee maker). We also had a balcony which was wonderful. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the location excellent. Lots of restaurants nearby, easy walking to the Royal Ontario Museum, the Ontario Gallery of Art, and the beautiful campus of...

We stayed the weekend while exploring Toronto. The hotel is in a perfect location. Plenty to do in the neighborhood and it's a very short walk to the subway. The room was very clean and pleasant and the building itself is very nice as well. To check in after hours was almost like a secret agent, getting pass codes and...

The outside, the lobby and the hallways are very lovely, the room itself not so much. My first impression of the room size was really negative, considering I couldn't open the door completely, the door actually hit up against the side table and the loud bang freaked me out. The shower stall is very narrow, good thing I am somewhat...

Not sure I would book here again although it was a conveniently central location with easy access to Yonge Street, public transport and The University. My room was in the basement where it was noisy and the room was as small as a university dorm room. I don't have a problem with small, as the room was well appointed, with...

We stayed in a room facing the street and it was noisy as the tenants across the street were sitting outside making a din. A room at the back of house would be better. Rooms look better in pictures, the air con was very noisy (couldn't sleep with it on) and the walls thin. Lovely tree lined street with great...

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
