This is a small bed and breakfast just minutes away from the subway in a quiet section of downtown Toronto. An all you can eat continental breakfast is provided each morning. While I was there the selections included bagels, bread for toasting, fruit, yogurts, tea, coffee, juice, donuts, eggs, and American cheese slices (not sure why the website says cheddar--maybe...

We are in our 70's- were never backpackers in the 60's- but we have had a wide and wonderful experience of accommodations across Canada and around the world. For value, privacy, and location- I could not have asked for a better place to stay for our 48th anniversary celebratory weekend than the Downtown Home Inn. We reserved online and were...

We had the basement room for a mini vacation. This was one of the most comfortable and clean places we've ever stayed--although the bed was a full or small queen. To be honest, for the price, I did not have high hopes. This place delivered far more than we expected. The staff was open and responsive. The breakfast had more...

This place is just fantastic! The beds are fantastic, the hosts were amazing and it is in a good place for a base. About 10 mins on train to union station and considerably cheaper than the big lifeless hotels in the centre of town! Plus much cheaper! Breakfast was laid out perfectly and you could eat as much as you...

First of all I was amazed by an e-mail received from Bryan shortly after I booked a room at Downtown Home Inn. In his e-mail he described everything that might be needed for a person first time visiting Toronto. He explained how to enter the property if nobody is there, there was a point in google maps as well as...

The staff are very friendly and love helping guests new to town with tourist information. Very clean room and facilities. I'll definitely stay there...

I stayed here for three nights just last week. The downtown home is clean with a very friendly and accommodating staff. The breakfast provided has a wide variety of foods, all tasty. To pull it all together is the great location. Not too far and not too close to younge street/ younge Dundas square there are a plethora of food...

I had a good stay at the Downtown Inn. Karem, the employee, was very helpful and communicative. The breakfast was self - serve. Coffee, tea, cold drinks, fruit, and sweet snacks available all the time. The location is right downtown, close to restaurants, shops, and the Wellesley subway. It faces Barbara Hall Park, which houses the AIDS Memorial. Everything is...

This is the first time I used a Bed and Breakfast facility, I have only used regular hotel whenever I travel. I am so happy to make this choice. I have heard a lot of bad things about BnB, the dirty room, the noisy situation and the dirty kitchen and bathroom, etc. None of these occurred in my stay in...

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
