I saw what looked like a great deal for this place on hotels.com, and I needed a getaway for personal reasons, so I took it. There was no one else in the hotel. I annoyed the man at the desk who gave me my key because I slid a debit card instead of a credit card for the deposit. The lobby was completely empty. I was embarrassed and alone in there. He put me on the 6th floor, which seemed like a perfectly reasonable floor. I tried to take a bath when I arrived because it's cold out and I don't have one in my apartment. The plug for the tub did not work. Neither did the hot water. I called the front desk and he told me, annoyed, that there was in fact hot water, I just needed to run the faucet 25 to 30 minutes for it to kick in since it came from the top of the building and needed to travel down the hotel to get to me on the 6th. That's alright, I said, a little weird, but that's not too bad. However, if no one is around, I asked myself after the call, and the hot water comes from the top, why was I put on the 6th floor? The construction woke me up at 6:50 am. I've worked construction, but I'd never heard anything like it. It sounded like a wild man of mythic proportions beating an upturned traffic cone of the same oversized dimensions with a massive two by four. And when he wasn't doing that, he was backing up his truck, which beeped louder than average trucks. Local construction isn't a hotel's fault. I asked myself, however, why was I put on a low floor on the construction side of a hotel when no one was around? Surely there was a high floor on the opposite side that was open. I tried to go back to sleep. I called the front desk and asked if it was possible to get a refund on the second night of my two night stay. They were terribly sorry, but there was not. Can I change rooms then? I asked her. On the other side of the building, away from the construction, near the hot water. Of course, she said. And I felt glad. She was receptive and kind. A few hours later I was given a room on the 23rd floor way up towards the top. I was excited. I imagined the water was simply steaming up there. I opened the door and outside was a familiar view, just higher. Before I could put my bag down I heard the giant outside banging his two by four against his giant traffic cone with just as much ferocity as before. He backed up his truck. At least up here I have a nice view down into the zone where he bangs and bangs away.…
Customer service is everything to me and the staff at this location exceeded my expectations. I’m currently in Newfoundland and my President is staying at this Hilton location for meetings which happened to be scheduled on his birthday. Earlier this week, I contacted management with a special request to post some signs on his door the morning of his big day and to send him a birthday fruit basket - they certainly delivered! Thank you, Matt and staff for being so helpful and accommodating! You Rock!!! It’s those kind of gestures that go a long way and yet another reason why I love the Hilton. Keep up the great work ❤️👌🏻
We stayed 1 night during a recent day surgery that brought us to the big city. Living 2+ hours away we knew going home afterwards wasn't an option. This hotel was the best price and the location was ideal for us. If you're looking for a place to stay close to tourist attractions in the downtown area I suggest here. Room was small but clean and comfortable. Beds were comfortable. Mini fridge and ac worked great! The ice maker didn't work on our floor. We didn't hear noise from the halls or others. We found the little store in the lobby convenient as we weren't up for exploring the city for things like Gatorade and Tylenol. We ordered in a late dinner and there is an area in the lobby just for deliveries to drop food off. Parking is expensive and should be included for every guest staying. …
Woke up early to find a bed bug crawling on my husbands bed shirt. Killed it. It gushed with blood. Presented the evidence to the front desk. Changed rooms. Had clothing and suitcase cleaned. Was later informed that a third party company inspected the room and that the results were negative for any activity. Hmmm yet we had a bloody carcass, and my husband now has clear bites on his neck. Other less significant issues were that the cold water did not work in the bathroom sink. And there was a buzzing noise from the fridge sporadically throughout the night. Needless to say, we did not sleep well.
