Generally disappointed with this hotel. Parking cost is overly inflated, $35 for valet for one night. Requested high floor room and was placed on ground floor on street side. Fairly noisey. Paid for room with 2 queen beds and was given room with 2 doubles. When we entered our room, the air conditioning had been left on high and the...

Clean rooms- good location. Walk able distance to most attractions and restaurants downtown. Quite busy, lots of people but quiet rooms. Enjoyed my stay! Would recommend to stay on high floors so that you are away from the main reception busy area.

The plusses: Great location (1 block from the College Subway station; a Shoppers, Sobey’s urban market, Starbucks, full Dominion store, and Winners within a 1-block radius; 10-minute walk to Yonge and Dundas). Marriott Rewards points available. Genial staff. Great lobby bar and restaurant. The minuses: The guest rooms haven’t been renovated in a while. They’ve been reasonably well maintained but are...

Traveling with Faithful Traveling Companion (FTC) our son and FTC's mother and father to attend our daughter's wedding was, to say the least, a bit stressful. However, staying at this hotel did a lot to alleviate the stress. First off, the location is quite good. It is across the street from what was Maple Leaf Gardens which is now a...

This hotel has a very nice lobby, bar, restaurant in the heart of Toronto. It was very enjoyable and near many landmarks, restaurants, bars, and transit. Our group of approximately 30 engineers stayed here for a mini conference and it offered the group a very nice location with good rooms and the ability to access transit to visit sites all...

Good location. Room was in the north tower & said to be recently renovated. Everything was clean & in good condition. Our view was a construction site but they weren't working on it when we were there so it was quiet. There was a bit of street noise at night. Only complaint was no fan in the bathroom, it got...

They seem to be in the process of renovating (Thank goodness). The rooms me and all my friends unfortunately were not. There was no temperature control in my room, cracks in the walls, no soundproofing as well as uncomfortable beds. The ceiling in my friends room was cracked everywhere and was actively dropping down. Everything is a mess with the...

I stayed here for 2 nights because I had a meeting here. The woman who checked me in did not really speak English. The hotel is run down, dated and smells bad. The elevators are old and slow. My room was old and tired - no thermostat, just a wall heating unit that made a terrible racket and was not...

The good: The lobby and room are quite well maintained. The bad: Anyone off the street can walk right in and go up to your room, there is no security to be seen and you don't need a key-card to access the floors from the elevator, and the breakfast food is poor; The ugly: the hallways and elevators are poorly...

I've stayed at the Marriott Courtyard in Toronto for one night, for several years now. I attend a conference yearly. The rooms are comfortable and well- appointed, Reception staff and efficient and polite. The meals provided at the conference-room and excellent. I enjoy the valet parking. My only complaint is that when a great many people leave at once, it's...

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
