I've stayed at this Courtyard by Marriott before and have always had a good stay. This was my first hotel experience in Covid times. Lewis at the front desk did an awesome job of looking after us. Valet parking was not available, but we could self park in the underground valet parking area, and our room key got us in and out of the garage. Things like an ice bucket or coffee maker were not provided in the room, but they were available if you needed them; you just had to ask the front desk. Great location at Yonge and College/Carlton, very close to the College subway station.
My daughter had surgery at sick kids hospital yesterday, and since it was morning surgery, it made sense to stay in the city Thursday night. This hotel was cheaper than my first choice by a significant amount, so we took a chance and chose here instead. I informed front desk staff of our reason for staying, and asked about a day rate for the following day, so that my wife or I had somewhere to hang out as the hospital only allows one parent in during Covid. The staff were very understanding, and although I was willing to pay a fee to keep the room for the day, the extension was given complimentary. It came in very handy as she was not discharged until 6:30pm. The only hiccup being a possible disconnect between the front desk and the cleaning staff, resulting in the room being cleaned after I left to go switch out with my wife at the hospital. I had brought our stuff to the car so She did not have to, leaving the room appear vacant. She returned to the room to find it being cleaned for reuse. A quick friendly discussion and all was well again, and she relaxed for another hour before we finally left the hotel. The compassion and understanding of the staff was much appreciated on a tough day. Thank you very much! …
My wife and I stayed at this hotel for five nights in December 2020 while my wife underwent eye surgery and subsequent recovery prior to flying back home. We chose this hotel destination as it is close to the Kensington Eye Institute where the surgery took place. We were treated very nicely by all of the staff, but especially by Paul the Manager - he was so kind and caring to us - he actually came and spoke with my wife in the hotel lobby when she returned to from the surgery and was wondering/concerned about the surgery and if she was going to be OK - we really appreciated this professionalism. Although the room is dated in a few areas like the bathroom (dim lighting and no fan), it was extremely clean and comfortable. The overall hotel is well kept; nice lobby, and although the bar and restaurant were closed due to Covid-19, it looked like these areas would be nice to eat and drink at when the pandemic restrictions are over. You can order in food, or go pick it up - many eating spots very close to the hotel. You can purchase beer, wine, and cider from a fridge they have set up near the front desk. Heated underground parking was free; the spaces between the parking spots is very good and wide - very little chance of somebody's door hitting your vehicle. The garage was very clean and well lit up; you needed to have a room key to get into the secure garage, therefore, there were no people in the garage that shouldn't be in there. The hotel is located right on Yonge Street; a little hard to find when you are driving, as the front of the hotel is located at the back (hard to see it when you are driving - the GPS said the hotel was on the right when driving by, but we could not tell it was the hotel - we had to turn around and take a side street to learn that the front of the hotel does not face Yonge Street). We definitely would recommend this hotel; very good price to boot.…
My husband has stage 4 cancer and we've had multiple appointments at a nearby cancer centre. I requested a quiet room away from the elevators so my husband can rest. The staff was very accomodating and gave us a quiet room. I've had to extend stays, cancel nights and needed late checkouts several times which was never a problem. We've spent more time at this property than our own home over the past month and will definately stay again. We are very grateful for the excellent service during a difficult time.
Stayed here for one night. Because of Covid, they offered free parking. Their underground parking lot is not very convenient as there is no elevator. The rooms were renovated, but little details were definitely overlooked. The lighting in the bathroom was terrible. The WiFi worked well.
