The hotel is a totally non-exceptional, very acceptable business hotel. My room was clean and reasonably well-appointed. Nothing to write home about, but fine to sleep in. The wifi was free, although pretty sluggish -- I had trouble watching a video during peak hours, but later at night it was fine. There was a water boiler and a couple of... More

My friends and I have been coming to Toronto from Buffalo at least once a year for various events and just to hang out in the city. We have stayed at different hotels at every visit just to explore different areas of Toronto and find one we really like. The Eaton Chelsea is the only one we have stayed at... More

I have stayed at the Chelsea several times this year on business. While the hotel public areas are quite lovely, some of the rooms are small and a bit dated. I had the unfortunate opportunity to find a metal carpet strip with my barefoot while coming out of the bathroom on one visit. Not a serious injury but it certainly... More

The Chelsea is a comfortable accommodation in a great area, at a reasonable price, and good loyalty benefits. Close to theaters, shopping, restaurants and entertainment. The facility is decently maintained, and staff always accommodating.

Nice hotel but service is never consistent with the description. The desk staff don't seem to want to tell you what you are entitled to. Make sure you ask for your parking, late check outs, turn down service and in room water. Also check to make sure you get access to the E lounge if you are in a business... More

I highly recommend this gem in the city. Tucked in on Elm Street off of Yonge, you cannot beat this location. Our room had a balcony which overlooked the skyline - so beautiful at night. The room itself was bright and clean. Excellent value for money

One night stay for a meeting the next morning. Deluxe King room on the 10th floor. It's a large hotel with different elevators depending on the floor you are staying on which is nice. The room was standard for Toronto Room. Front desk was ok with check in. Bathroom vanity has been updated and was nice and clean, the bed... More

Courteous staff and great location. Near Air Canada Centre, Hockey Hall of Fame and Eaton Centre (a great shopping mall in downtown Toronto). Lots to do in Toronto and Chelsea is accessible to all of the important activities.

Stayed five nights at the hotel. The hotel was clean, comfortable and close to amenities-shops, subway and restaurants of all types. We did have a faulty phone and iron and both were attended to right away. There is a restaurant -reasonably priced in the lobby as well as a pub,

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
