There are a couple of positives and a couple of negatives of this hotel. The location is ideal as it is right on the water a couple of blocks from the CN tower and the hotel staff are very helpful. The negatives are the following. Parking for 2 days showed up on my bill for $56. Now I suppose I should accept this being downtown Toronto but it would have been nice if this was explained on booking or check in. Also the hotel is starting to show it's age. Although very clean there are areas such as a broken shower handle that show it is need of an upgrade
Great service. Rooms were newly refurbished. Close to waterfront and downtown. Large TVs, refrigerator. Wifi was decent and easy to connect. Cons - some street noise on 3rd floor but not bad. Did not disturb me. Parking is expensive for In/Out privileges.
I asked my girlfriend to marry me here. Can't thank the staff enough. Andy the hotel manager was very kind and attentive made sure I had everything I needed to make the night special. Highly recommended staying here for any reason.
Rooms are modern. Hardwood floors, very big TV’s (I’m terrible with guessing but I felt like it was more than 50 inches). USB plugs throughout the room which is nice in 2020. Small fridge that did the trick. Very large ceiling to floor windows with a great view of the city. Underground parking $$ is additional, which is unfortunate, but to be expected I suppose in Toronto. At least it's secure and there are lots of spots. We didn't run into a lot of staff (likely due to Covid) but the ones we did seemed very professional and friendly. Also due to Covid, much of the hotel was closed/idle, so I can’t fairly review all the amenities, but I’m sure they are nice, clean and modern like the rest of the hotel seems to be. The pool area is very nice. Frankly, one of the most scenic pools I’ve been to at a hotel. In one direction is the CN tower framed quite picturesquely between two buildings, on the other side is the Island and airport. Really a nice spot. There is an attendant who gives you towels and also takes drink orders. Really had a private club feel to it. Since we stayed during Covid, there were a few changes that likely wouldn’t be there normally, such as having to book a timeslot to get in. It’s annoying but t I understand why they have to do it so I won't hold it against them nor will it be reflected in this review rating. One thing I will reflect in it however are the hours. It closes at 7pm! That seems very early to me. If this is just a temporary covid-related measure, I digress, but I have a feeling it’s not. Especially considering there are attached condos that overlook the pool and I’m wondering if they close early to appease them? This leaves you with no options if you want to sit outside at night, and that is my biggest (and really only) complaint with this hotel. There is a small patio-like area on the sidewalk by the lobby, but there are no chairs there at night. Again, unless this a temporary Covid-related measure, this is a big disappointment. This is probably the first hotel I’ve been to that doesn't have at least some sort of place where you can sit outside at night. The aforementioned pool area would have been an amazing spot to sit and have a drink and/or quiet conversation. Really a shame. I would certainly not make that a deal-breaker though. This is a very nice, clean hotel that I would gladly recommend.…
