I was looking to stay in downturn Toronto and was surprised to see how pricey some of the downtown hotels were, and this was just some of the basic ones. However, I was able to put my disappointment to one side when I discovered this little gem at a fraction of the cost and with great reviews here on Tripadviser....

I visited Toronto in April, and the Comfy Guest House was a wonderful place for my too short visit. The owner and operator, Tahir, was great, and will make sure you are taken care of. The location is quick walk to street cars, which I liked a lot, that can then take you quickly downtown. I felt quite secure, it...

I stayed at the Comfy House for a week in May and I will definately stay there again! All the comforts of home await you. Tahir was an excellent host and not intrusive at all. The communal kitchen is kept spotless as well as the rest of the house. Each room has its own private key and an abundance of...

The roomes in the house do not look like the pics. It is in a good location in down town TO. However there is only a security pad lock to enter, no dead bolts on any door especially the bedrooms. In fact my room had a large glass window in the door covered with thumb tacks for window covering and...

Comfy bed, kitchen, restroom. Near by bus, streetcar, subway and shops. The landlord is friendly, helpful and nice person. The internet link is very good when I was in the kitchen having my meals. I do recommend it.

Stayed here for a week in May. The Rooms are very comfortable, as I stayed in two different ones during the week. The top room has a lovely roof terrace as well. My boyfriend and I were in town for a few days and we really enjoyed our stay. Mr. Tahir was very accommodating and helpful and we found the area of Cabbagetown to be excellent for convenience of shops, restaurants, pubs, and public transport. Our room was a private en suite and it was facing the street though we were never...

My girlfriend and I stayed here for a week when we first moved to Toronto. It is a great place to stay because it is a 10 minute walk to downtown or a 3 minute street car ride. I would recommend it to all my friends and family. Tahir the owner is very helpful and can tell where all the...

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
