Clean, friendly and helpful staff, the hotel met our needs. It has a great location and with investment the charm of the building could be brought out making it more attractive clients who value historic properties.

After recently visiting Alcatraz I had a strange feeling of dejavu when I walked into our "hotel" room. Tiny as a cell and a tiny uncomfortable bed to match, even a little sink with only cold water. No TV, no air conditioning and no sleep. The band in the bar below played long, loud and late into the night and... More

The Algonquin Hotel was so disappointing in so many ways! A decent location, close to downtown and a quick walk to the Casino. The hotel could be half decent with the slightest of efforts and some upgrades. First, get some air conditioning or have cooling options! Sweltering heat on the third floor makes for a long night! The biggest issue... More

The price was good but. Id rather pay more to have my own private washroom with a shower that I don't have to share with the whole floor. Also, it's very small rooms with no air conditioning and the bar does cause a lot of noise on the nights with live music so you'll need to request a room away... More

People very friendly!!!!!! Very Helpful!!!!! Hotel was pronounced by them as old, but undergoing renovations. Room was mostly clean. NO air conditioning on the top floor. Five minute walk to the water front so very convenient to a scenic area.

Had to stop for the night and found this hotel. Excellent price and everything I needed was available within walking distance. The hotel also has two pubs, but they were not open so I can't give you any details about them.

We stayed at The Algonquin Hotel during our trip to Sault Ste. Marie. We were very pleased with our stay. We had a lengthy conversation about the property with the owner who explained to us that it was a heritage site and they had been renovating the building since he purchased it. There were actually painting the hallways and replacing... More

Terrible service, Terrible place, Terrible owners. Don't be fooled with the "nice reviews". Here it goes, Needed to Drive my car from alberta to ontario to take care of my terminally ill mother. We booked this hotel online, price drew us in. Problem #1 is the presentation of their employees: a teenage Front receptionist wearing a raggy hoodie. Answered a... More
