Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Reserved a stay here last minute for a family trip. Was placed as essential staff for labor day but got permission from my Job to take the weekend off fully. We were driving to the hotel on were on track to make it there by 5pm. But had a family emergency as a family member was hospitalized and we decided to head back. I called the hotel immediately and let them know (hotel was reserved two hours prior) and made them very clear of the situation and even explained to them that i purchased a warranty through hotels.com for this stay in case anything like this happened. Manager was very adamant that i can not cancel unless 72 hours prior i explained that i just reserved the hotel and manager said nothing can be done. While i have traveled on many occasions and have issues such as missed flights, family emergencies, car trouble and hotels were compassionate and accommodating This hotel did not even offer to change the date because they assumed i would cancel the reservation anyways.... Im upset for how i was treated with this hotel, i am an avid traveler and have never been treated this way by any hotel and their staff only seem to care for milking every penny from their customers regardless of their well being or ability to show empathy. I would not recommend this hotel simply due to their lack of customer service and attitude i was shown today.

Spent a night here with two small children. They loved the water park. It’s pretty ideal for families. You’re able to use it the day you check in and until 2pm the next day, which was good. There’s a Boston Pizza and a Breakfast buffet in the hotel. Rooms were comfy.

We booked this hotel for 2 nights , mini family vacation. Does not have wheel chair accessibility in front of building you have to use Boston Pizza entrance , but mind you if it’s closed you have to go around the building or use other entrances . The reception looks appetizing but the rest of the place is a complete mess . The rugs are very dirty and the rooms are out dated . My 1 year old contracted hand foot and mouth disease from this place it’s so dirty . Oh and we wanted to check out the next day they would not refund us so we would of lost out over $400 so we had no choice but to stay . I wouldn’t stay here again .

The water park was a total hit with the kids. Complete and really fun. The room was a little moist and the air conditioning was not really efficient. The room was clean and the beds were OK. Front desk service was great and they offer discount to the restaurants in the hotel.

Location is fine, water park is very small compared to the other waterparks, but fine for very small children. What's upsetting is the 12.5% resort fee, which ended up being around $100 (we saw that when booking) and the surprise $90 parking fee, which was no where explained clearly when booking. So, in total, $200 of extra fees for a three night stay. Not fun. Also, some small details in the room were a problem, including SUPER loud air conditioner, a cobweb along the top of the drapes, and some mould around the shampoo dispenser in the shower. All in all, my kids had fun (arguably only because we were there with other friends, hence the extra star), but the extra fees, and less than stellar room were a big let down. This review will stay up if I'm not contacted by Americana with a satisfactory resolution.

the lobby is very nice and modernized. Although if I have to say, the water park is pretty small, the wave pool is also small, and there are only 2 large waterslides. the room is like your ordinary hotel rooms. And this resort is only 5 minutes away from the falls, not bad.

We booked this hotel so our kids can have some fun and kill time while in Canda, the water park is not as big but kids loved it. It's located in Lundys lane where there's a lot of places to eat and minimarkets. Close to the Niagara falls as well. I do have some complains, the hallway is NOISY! doors banging, kids running, and the staff doesn't seem to care, they also don't clean rooms for some reason, also if you room is by a balcony and want the light off on it ? Unfortunately you can't control it, so it's a little bright even at night. And, better check your credit cards everyone, there are hidden fees.

STAFF WAS SUPER NICE!! Room was tired and smelled. Needs to be updated / renovated. If you sat on the lower edge of the bed the entire bed would lift off the ground...not very nice and kind of dangerous. No desk for computer work I need to do when I am on the road. They charge you for late check out. If they don't have the space because of incoming guests, I get it. But after staying for 2 days, charging me $40 late checkout for 2 hours is just a money grab. Late checkout is available or it is not based on who is coming in ...I get that., but hey lets grab another $40 from these guests is insulting and a rip off. Not how a real ( decent hotel) treats their guests. Water park is mehhh...just saying...don't expect too much. Re$ort fee is $30 ..per day !! and is for towels ( YES TOWELS!!!), wi fi and landscaping the small piece of grass on the blvd. I am not kidding...ask them. By the way , the bath towels are somewhere in size between a hand towel and a bath towel ...they are not really bath towels. 2 nights $800! WHAT AJOKE ! oh yah there is no maid service...they say due to COVID....BS!!!... come on people, lets get on with it, IT HAS BEEN OVER 2 YEARS. Housekeeping is not wearing masks anyways...just another way for them to save money = ripping you off= not having to pay housekeeping to make your bed etc. $25 a day for parking. I usually have no problem with a parking charge. If I am at a hotel in Toronto, Montreal, NYC etc but this is Lundy's Lane in Niagara Falls...the home of massage parlors and strip clubs and farm land...this is NOT downtown Niagara Falls and they have literally acres pf parking...could it be free? you would think so. But it is another obvious money grab. Just so you know, I seldom leave reviews, and if I am going to leave a negative review I always call the hotel and let them know why I had issues. I did that. Left my contact info ( email and Tel # )on Sunday with their manager Dianne. By Wednesday she had not contacted me, so I took the time to contact her. I told her these are policies she likely has no control over but after talking and listening to lame excuses she made no effort whatsoever to try to make me happy. ( by the way I was fine until the late check out rip off - poor front desk girl going down the hallways knocking on each room letting them know they were going o be charged for the late checkout. It was really quite pathetic and she was a very nice girl and a great employee for the company. Anyway I have gone on too long. DO NOT STAY HERE UNLESS YOU ENJOY BEING RIPPED OFF!! All of these "extra charges should have been included in the room rate which would have changed the rate from $279 ( still not worth it) to $359. Weaselly management...WILL NEVER E VEN CONSIDER STAYING HERE AGAIN. We were here for a dance competition for my daughter so they were making huge money on that too. And I can't forget the giant centipede and ant we found in our room. ( another dance mom had one in her room too!).. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!! WILL NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN !!

Response from Guest Relations, Guest Services / Front Office at Americana Resort
Responded 13 May 2022
Thank you for your feedback and we are sorry to hear of your disappointment. We appreciate that you found the staff to be pleasant as our guests are very important to us. Your two-bedroom suite does have a large granite table however I am sorry if it was not conducive to your needs. With respect to the resort fee, it includes wi-fi access, local calls, basic business services including phototyping and faxing, pool towels and lifejackets. We do have a playground and large green space adjacent to the water park with a basket ball court, pavilion and BBQ stands for our guest to use and enjoy. A late check out is optional to our guests and extended as a courtesy for a small fee. When you had made your reservation, the rate was quoted with a total of all the charges including taxes fees and parking. The hotel confirmation which you received also includes the breakdown of the fees. This is also stated on our website so all charges are transparent to our guests and should not be a surprise. Diane did reach out to you on Sunday and had left a voicemail message and explained the charges when you spoke on Wednesday to address your concerns. We certainly hope you would reconsider and return as our valued guest in the future.

The place is much smaller than we anticipated, gets boring real fast. The real problem is the amount of noise - walls are paper thin. Kids run and scream along in the hallways and there is no control. Our room was not checked prior to checking in as the light about the tv did not work. The sink is cracked and water would not go down. Neighbours above were SCREAMING at their kids at 7.30am. I think it’s bad management, no one does anything about the noise. Bad sleep that night for sure.
