I stayed three nights at this place and oh what a great experience. The amazing host is the best you could ask for, friendly, helpful and knowledgable. The place is clean, comfortable and beautiful. Love it!
Salome is one of the most incredible hosts and human beings I have met – she made us feel comfortable, safe, taken care of, and went above and beyond to make this trip memorable. She spent hours teaching me how to ride a bike and showing us around – she was patient, knowledgeable, kind, and immensely thoughtful – hands down one of the most excellent teachers. She took care of us like we were family and made so many concessions for us. The hostel is close to transit, a short walk/bike ride to the falls and scenic farms/vineyards by the river. The hostel is clean, has all the amenities you will need, and has sustainable practices in place (something you don't see a lot) which really impressed me. I would recommend this place to anyone taking a trip to Niagara – you don't want to sleep on this!…
We stayed 2 nights at this amazing hostel and I would recommend this place to all backpackers. The place is beautiful, clean and sustainable. The location is next to transit and a little walk to the falls. The owner Salome is very very kind and helpful. We rented bikes from them and she taught my friend to ride it, spending hours with us! She didn't even charge us for extra hours on the bike. I will definitely be going back in autumn to see her :)
At no time I felt engulfed by the hygge aura, noticed the eco-friendliness, and realized that it is kept cleaner than Calgary. Breakfast added zest invariably to my day (my favorite part of the day!). Even though coronavirus has killed much of the traveling vibe, you can still soak up a lively atmosphere inside the hostel and outside in the wilderness. It's situated super close to the bus & train station. Setting out to behold the Falls only takes a quick stroll of about 20 minutes. The Butterfly Conservatory and Botanical garden are walkable even under the pouring snow. There are also hip bars and cafés within walking distance, and CanadaPost still delivers super fast there. The manager was very welcoming and sympathetic, and her assistant was the most pleasant person I met in Canada. Both always displayed savoir-faire. In almost 14 months of living in Canada is the only place in which I could felt at home and pampered with philoxenia. I barely saw the sun during my stay, yet I always felt a warmth within its walls.…
I had a great stay at this hostel. The two ladies who were working there were very friendly and welcoming and knowledgeable about the area. I was the only one in the hostel so they graciously upgraded my room which was nice. The hostel was clean and cozy and I felt really comfortable and safe. They are taking good measures to stay clean with covid. It’s also close to the bus station and is a walkable distance to the Falls. I would recommend it to anyone staying in the area. I hope to be back one day when I can travel to the US side of the falls!
My travel buddy and I were surprised that a hostel could look so magnificent. We expected a low-cost place just to sleep and grab a bite to eat in the morning before setting out on our tourist activities. However, the hostel was much more than we anticipated. Both his room and mine were immaculate. The rooms on the ground and second floors were just as clean and decorated with historical items about the Niagara region. I only discovered the cozy basement reading/game rooms when we were about to leave the property. I need coffee in the morning, and the hostel accommodated my caffeine fix well, providing a variety of kitchen equipment to prepare other breakfast items. Special kudos to Jakob, a hostel volunteer from Germany, and Ms. Salome Torres, the hostel manager, for being such friendly staff!…
We had the best experience in Niagara Falls and most of that was thanks to the amazing staff and hostel At HI Niagara Falls. The staff were so friendly and always accommodating our needs. Then the actual accomodation was great. Very clean and very beautiful. It made the ending to our very long trip great. Massive thanks to all the guys there!
Beautiful and very well decorated. Very very clean and it feels like you are in someone’s funky holiday house. Nice helpful info and maps all around. Wonderful staff and guests are all very nice and abide by the rules and courteous of one another. Very close to the falls , right behind the bus terminal where you catch the West and go bus to the falls and the main strip area of the falls . It takes about only 5 min by bus. The only down side that the rooms are very hot and stuffy that I hade to wake up at 3 and go sleep outside. The double bunkers are squeeky .
I was only here a couple nights to sleep so can't speak to the activities or atmosphere. The hostel is clean with good working wifi. Bathroom/shower facilities were located outside the rooms in common area for all. The rooms had small wooden cabinets that you could put a lock on but were pretty flimsy. The beds were a titch on the hard side so I didn't have the best sleep. The rooms had actual keys instead of auto-locking doors so you are at the mercy of your roommates to lock up when they leave which mine never did so you're room may be unlocked at all times. Hostel is located a couple kms from the main touristy area. There is nothing in the immediate area; a lot of abandoned buildings. It is along the river so you can walk or bike downtown with great views. There is a small canteen but the closest convenience store is quite a distance; about 1.5 km. The hostel had free parking which was a bonus. …
Of all the hostels i've stayed in during my time in Canada, this one was by far the nicest one. Not only did it have the most friendly staff but it was also the cleanest one. Overall it has a very home-like feel to it. Additionaly the management is putting great effort into going green. Be it reduced energy and water output or reducing garbage by sorting
