Reception was friendly and efficient, our first room was not what we expected, it smelled of smoke and we requested a new room, we were accommodated and switched without a hassle. Rooms are clean and spacious, can definitely do with ripping out the carpets, its a bit dodgy. The breakfast is not much, dont expected anything, croissants or cinnamon rolls, water and a fruit bar.
We stayed here Sept. 14/15. It has been a few years since we've been here and really can't find fault with this little spot. Upon arrival, the gentleman at the front desk staff was very pleasant and quite nice - he didn't rush us through the check in process and was very kind. We've been coming here for several years and have yet to have experience a rude staff member....makes me wonder about the tourist that's checking in. We have never, ever experienced anyone rude. The room had updated furniture & decor. Yes, they really need to replace the carpenting. The room was extremely clean and they offered up shampoo, soap, conditioner, and even makeup remover. Nice to have a coffee machine with coffee provided. All in all, it was yet another good stay at HoJo's. We really have to note how kind the owner is. Giving a hand up to a person who needed housing....he gets a 5 star rating for doing that. The owner is generous and we were blown away by what he has done to help out someone in need. Wow !! He is truly one of a kind. Will be awhile before we return to Kingston and we can only hope, that with covid and lack of business, this spot can stay open. When we do return to the city, you can bet we'll check in at HoJo's. Pat and Diane North Bay, Ont.…
We’re 4 in the room and we were told there’s no more food left, clearly we were gone the whole day so we had to get breakfast before the lobby closes at 11pm. (Packed food) we were even questioned why we were looking for more food?? We’re 4 in the room and we were only able to get 2 sets of breakfast. Imagine paying for food and we dont get enough for everyone. It’s part of the accommodation and bill clearly. There should be a right number of food for the people who are staying in. No matter what kind of food or who’s staying, you paid for it using your own hard earned money. So anyone has the right to complain.
This hotel room was dirty - very dirty. Sheets and towels were grey - not white. It was very hot and they were unable to turn the heat down - we were told to use the air conditioner - in February/March. The wifi was spotty if it worked at all. Not recommended. Not cheap.
Kyle checked is in . He was very friendly and very helpful. Rooms were very nice... coffee maker, refrigerator & microwave! Very clean rooms. When checking we grabbed coffee but not the free bfast... excellent coffee. I can’t remember his name but another male very friendly and great suggestion for a sit down breakfast. Would definitely go back.
