I am careful rating a place I stayed because I wish to be fair to both the owners and to guests. I was disappointed by a peculiar lack of attention upon checking in. I booked a room on first level which allows me to park right in front of my room. Unaware of this benefit I asked the host where I could park so he said "theres lots of room. Park anywhere". He should ve said park right in front of your room. Then I asked him when is breakfast. He said 6am to 9am. The fact is on weekend its 6:30am to 9am. Now this may sound a bit weird for me to say but it matters. In my case I get up at 5am. I psych myself up for breakfast. Show up at 6...as I m told.. Then get upset. I feel bad complaining about what seems like details but for someone away from home the small things can become big things. In all fairness I otherwise rate this place good. Great bed!. Soft pillows. Nice TV. Bathroom and rest of it real clean. …
I am very impressed and happy with our stay at Maple Crest Inn. Very clean, very comfortable the owners and their son were very courteous and kind. We will definitely be returning in the near future!! Thank you so much!!
Our second stay at this place. We originally stayed a couple of years ago, booked through Hotwire. We’re going to Quebec and decided to stop the night in Kingston and booked through Hotwire again and got the same the same place again. New owners, but same great place. Rooms are tidy, plenty of parking and free breakfast is always great - cereal, waffles, eggs, bread and jam.
The family was super nice and accommodating. The made to order waffles were a highlight. A great place to stay for a night if you are visiting Kingston. Parking was no problem and when we had an issue with our online booking, the family was very professional and courteous.
The last time we stayed at this location, it was a Comfort Inn. It is now run by an Asian family who do their best. When you pay less than $100/night, you don’t expect luxury. Our 2nd floor room was fine with one bed and a sofa for comfortable TV watching. It also had a frig. We had to haul luggage up stairs because we don’t like ground floor! There was some hall noise @1 am the first night- sounded like children. We did see a dog but we never heard it! There was some confusion about the don’t disturb card. We left it on the door when we went down to breakfast. Then we took it off and left. The room still wasn’t made up @ 3pm and the girl assigned to our room had already gone. Apparently, they want to do the rooms while you’re at breakfast. The breakfast room is not very big. They provide the basics- juice, coffee, toast (4 slot toaster of which 3 worked), English muffins, mini pastries, 3 cold cereals, granola, hard boiled eggs, grapes and make your own waffles. Enough to start your day! During the day, you can make coffee in your room and they will give you extra packages. I had no major complaints. It is a good option if you’re looking for a lower rate.…
