Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed here for 2 nights and were quite satisfied. The location is great but this means extra cost for parking though there is a park and stay rate which helps. The room was generally clean but dusty on top of baseboards and in corners. Beds were clean and comfortable and everything worked in the room. There is fruit, coffee, tea, and hot chocolate available 24 hours a day. Buffet breakfast was good but not great. The selection was good but poor quality sausage patties and no bacon. Staff were pleasant. I would recommend this property.

We have stayed at this hotel a few times. The underground parking is great. The location is fantastic because it is walking distance to everything including the waterfront. With COVID 19 all the rules seemed to be followed and the signs were everywhere to remind us. The rooms were very clean and our room had a seal on it to confirm that the room was sanitized and no one had been in it since then which was very good. Breakfast is included with the room but the dining area was closed but we am had grab bags which was a great idea. Overall experience was very good.

This hotel is very conveniently located in downtown Halifax, and within walking distance of many attractions and dining choices.
This is also one of the stops for the Maritimebus airport shuttle, so you do not need to rent a car, nor do you have to lug your suitcases any great distance.
Our room was fairly large, and very clean. Comfortable mattresses insured good sleep. Housekeeping is very efficient.
By the way, if you want a larger room, this complex also has a Homewood Suites hotel attached, but their breakfast area is separate from the Hampton Inn.
We paid a little extra for the harbor view, and it was worth it. Comfortable mattresses provided good sleep.
The breakfast was decent; we never left the area hungry.
Checkout was fast and efficient, and moments later our shuttle arrived to take us to the airport.
This is a very good hotel to serve as a headquarters for a tourist trip to Halifax. Should we ever return here, it would be a prime candidate unless we opt for a Homewood Suite.

I wanted to express my disappointment with the recent experience at your hotel. Unfortunately, the cleanliness of the toilet was not up to standard even after requesting a re-clean. First thing i wanted to do when i went into the room is to use the toilet and it was not cleaned, seems like someone threw up on the toilet and its not cleaned, i requested for it to be cleaned again and guess what, it was wiped but not good enough to remove the disgusting stuff on the toilet. Additionally, the assistance provided by the first front desk agent fell short of expectations. Moreover, the lack of communication and effectiveness from the second staff members were disheartening. There were two female who checked the toilet again, one was very apologetic and the other one who has a thick full pack make up on her face who seem like an inspector or what did not even do anything or say anything, instead they walked away while i am still saying something. Furthermore, I called a day before hoping for special room decorations, such as rose petals, does not matter if theyre real or fake, unfortunately they cannot do it. Considering the hotel's location in downtown, big hotel:company, I expected a higher level of service and attention to detail. I work in a hotel and we attentively make sure to provide the best service and i can tell you right now, this hotel needs improvement. Only thing we enjoyed was the view cause we are at the 16th floor and the breakfast as well was really nice. I trust you will take this feedback constructively to enhance the guest experience.

Hotel bed was very comfortable. The room was quiet. The location is good for walking r driving-a bit pricey for parking $25/night plus tax. Breakfast nothing spectacular but it gets you going in the morning.

Good evening Philippa M and thank you for your visit and the time you took to complete a review. The cost for parking is an unfortunate reality in the City and we try and keep our pricing as competitive as possible. In the future please ask about parking inclusive prices as we have parking inclusive packages from time to time. All the best and thank you again. Jamie

The coffee is good, breakfast warm and the restaurant staff friendly. The blankets on the bed were kind of odd.. it seemed more like a mattress cover than a blanket. The pillows are so soft I had to stack 3 together. Inside the night table drawer it was gross.
Really nice to have a kitchenette with a stove, dishwasher and fridge because we needed to make a lunch for the training we attended while in Halifax.
Not sure that I would stay again because the blanket issue and night table really bothered me. 🤔 This Hampton hotel is not up to the Hampton line standard.

We stayed here in September. The rooms were your up to date average in appearance. However not the cleanest. We settled in late when I noticed what appeared to be bodily fluids on the headboards of both beds. Their information sheet in the hotel room says each room is inspected after cleaning, well I'm not sure who inspected after this room being cleaned but they need glasses, if it was even inspected.
Also down the hall at 4 am someone consistently banging on a door, loudly is not very reassuring of one's safety.
Definitely not staying again.

Not recommended!
Reserved 2 rooms, requested joining for health reason of one of the family members and on arrival 1 on 2nd floor and 1 on 6th floor.
Far from joining rooms!!
With a late check in, we took rooms and had to move garbage out of hall to get into room. Gross!! The fridge had left over food from previous guest and washroom was not cleaned.
There was a wide variety of guest throughout the hotel that were unpleasant and did not comply with Covid protocols.
There was a disturbance in the entrance way on our check in and caused one of children to become very upset.
We decided to leave, as we could not settle our child down. We were told we would be refunded our money and a week later I am still battling to get a refund!
Do not recommend this hotel!!

My 3yr old daughter was playing and came across a pill under the bed, then i began looking and found more under the table between the 2 beds. What pisses me off is they are suppose to be cleaned daily after checkout,so then the head of house keeping tells me and my friend that " we as humans make mistakes" well to me that was being lazy and didn't bother cleaning or looking under beds.so BEWARE!!!please inspect your room.

It can be a bit of a climb. I usually suggest if you have mobility issues that going down is fine but get a cab coming back.
