About a year ago, we stayed at this same establishment, however upon check in we had gotten the wrong room and we weren’t able to get it changed because the hotel was booked! However, this time around our stay was much better!! We booked the same way (over the phone by calling the front desk, because we use a corporate rate and calling the 1-800 number will redirect you to some call centre in like Arizona and half the time they don’t know what the heck you’re talking about!) and this time around we received the correct room! Our room was very clean, and well kept. The hotel as well is in very good shape, and the staff is very helpful as well. In addition, the complementary breakfast is something you don’t want to pass up! It’s very good and is always fresh! Even though I’ve said that we had great stay and that it was much better than last time, there was still two things that weren’t the best. So yesterday (Thursday, March 5th 2020) we returned to our hotel room after a long day of being out, (around 8:00PM) and when we walked into our room we realized that house keeping hadn’t touched it whatsoever. We had to call the front desk because we were in need of more things (Towels, Kleenex, Toilet Paper, etc.) We left for the day around 12:30pm ish I would say, we also took the card OFF the door that says “hang on, I’m busy” and placed it back inside, like sorry we don’t get up at the crack of dawn for the room to be cleaned and restocked. When we called the house keeping service, it went to a voicemail service, so we had to call the front desk, they usually bring the things you request to your room you to “accommodate”. But we had to walk down and get it ourselves (don’t @ me for being lazy or anything I’m just saying they should “accommodate” their guests by bringing the things to you.) anyways that’s the first concern. The second one is the hot tub, if you’re coming over March Break of 2020 just a heads up the hot tub is broken, and I’ve read other reviews and it’s been broken since fall of 2019. Who knows when that will be fixed? Anyways other than that, our stay was great and we’ll definitely be returning in the future! Hopefully with no issues!

The accessible room was ideal for me. Staff went out of their way to facilitate our stay and my limited mobility. They observed all COVID-19 restrictions very pleasantly, but stringently, which we appreciated. We asked permission to host a family supper in our room, since only takeout was available at that time in Halifax They verified the number of guests, which they approved. This was the second time we stayed at this hotel and we were impressed by the cleanliness of the rooms and kindness of the staff. Bonus: They have HGTV! Dreamt of renovations while sleeping on a very comfortable bed with a choice of a firm or soft pillow. Didn't want to leave!

Was planning to stay here for nearby business event. Had a suite booked for two nights. Some family members wanted to come as well so they booked two separate rooms for two nights also. We booked a month in advance, despite this, 48 hours before the stay, the hotel called my family and said they could not honour their hospital rate because the hotel was too full and if they wanted to come they would be charged more than double the quoted rate. My brother in law thought this was crazy so he called corporate, they agreed it was wrong and once again said they'd honour the rate. Then they called back a few minutes later and said they wouldn't honour the rate afterall and the rate was now 227 or some crazy number, way higher than anywhere you can even find online. So my family booked accross the street where they were happy to provide the hospital rate. I cancelled my suite and booked accross the street as well. This whole thing is an absolutely disgusting display of corporate greed and is entirely unforgivable. Big F you to our frontline healthcare workers. Be extremely cautious when booking here as their word and rates mean absolutely nothing.

The free shuttle bus arrived on time with a friendly driver. - good start
The bed was enormous as well as comfortable.
The double walk in shower was a treat with quality shampoo/ conditioner and shower gel.
Plenty of fluffy towels to choose from.
The receptionist provided us with deodorant, mouthwash, toothpaste, toothbrush as we had forgotten to pack ours.
The room was stylishly fitted out .
Probably the only let down was the hot breakfast. The continental options were numerous and preferably.
I would recommend this hotel if flying into Halifax.
The bed was enormous as well as comfortable.

When we arrived we were disappointed to find out the pool slide was taken apart and swimming was limited. The hotel attendant was able to get a room next to my daughters friend’s room so she could enjoy a sleepover with me close by due to her medical condition which we really appreciated. Also the man running the breakfast in the morning was very helpful in finding a couple of things my daughter was able to eat due to severe food allergies! Beds are also very comfortable.

So this is more of a visit that didn't happen, let me share. I booked a room a few days ago for tonight and tomorrow night for my husband and 2 friends. We used our corporate rate, which we often do as it can be for personal travel as well. I get a call this morning from the hotel saying they are not honouring my rate as it is not available on weekends and it is only for 1 person. Each additional person is $20. I booked it directly on their app and normally if the corp rate is not avail it shows you the reg rate or CAA etc. Then they had the audacity to want to penalize me if I cancelled my reservation after they changed the terms I was booked under. They saw the error in that statement pretty quick when I mentioned that they are the ones breaking the terms. I will stick with our Hilton discounts in the future. I am in the process of rebooking 2 other trips I have booked so the IHG chain will be losing another $3000 between now and October.

Good Evening So sorry your husband was unable to use the Bell Aliant rate for a weekend with friends. This rate is for the employee only while travelling on business and not for personal use. However we did say we would allow him to keep the reservation this time as long as he had the employee ID and he was a Bell employee. As it was stated on the reservation the person who the reservation was for was not going to be there . This rate is also not for family use . But he did have to pay the additional $ 20.00 for his 2 friends. A rate of 130.00 in Halifax is a great rate this time of year .

We booked 5 nights at the hotel. On the first evening, I let the manager on duty know there was large wads of chewing gum, rust and debris in the bottom of the pool. She was dismissive, saying ti was just cleaned today. I asked the following day at lunch if it had been cleaned and her and the hotel manager were rude and dismissive saying they looked and it was nothing.
I would not return to this hotel and am looking to cancel further nights and rebook elsewhere. Even a small amount of customer service or pretending to care would have made this forgivable but 100% dismissive and rude.
Also, two men screamed at each other outside the hotel for 45 minutes at 11pm which was great...
I never had to write a bad review but this was the top.

I stayed here recently with my partner for a weekend 'staycation' and we had an amazing time! The staff at this location are so friendly and accommodating, they really went the extra mile to make sure that we enjoyed our stay. The room was very clean and we even got to use their newly renovated hot tub. So relaxing! Plus, the included breakfast was delicious. We will for sure be back!

Great stay. Guest services was very responsive in spite of being short-staffed. Rooms were clean and very quiet. The location is perfect for visiting Halifax, Peggy’s Cove (50 min) and Lunenburg (1h).

This hotel is located in Bedford a reasonable distance and quite the drive away from where you're looking at actually going. There are a number of local establishments that are much much closer.
Asking your travel agent to do some searching around the areas of Chester and Mahone Bay. You could also look at the Oak Island Resort. I know someone who stayed there and they thought it was absolutely marvellous.
Hi VJToronto! Which tour company are you asking about? We believe there may be a few. We personally haven't attended the wine & cheese boat cruise, but we know you can't go wrong with a cruise on our lovely Halifax harbour!
Pets are unfortunately not allowed. We allow service animals only.
Thank you for the inquiry. Our pool, hot tub is open from 5:30am until 11pm. Our waterslide opens daily at 10am. We allow adults only from 10-11pm in our pool area. The area is closed from 12pm-2pm daily for cleaning. We look forward to seeing you.
Thank you for your questions. At this time our waterslide and pool are scheduled to be opened for your stay. All of our linens and pillows are indeed new since we changed to Holiday Inn Express. Also, all of our guest rooms have a refreshment station, including mini fridge, microwave and Keurig coffee maker.
