I have been staying at this hotel every year since they opened in 2004. You can't beat the location as it's in the downtown core, surrounded by restaurants, bars, shopping, the waterfront for nice walks and pizza corner for late-night eats. It can get noisy at night because of the bars but the good features I've mentioned far outweigh the bad. Because of the Atlantic bubble, I had to quarantine here for 14 days recently. The staff in general and Troy in particular can't be any better. While I hope the quarantine will be a thing of the past when I return in the spring, if it's not I'll survive thanks to Residence Inn Halifax Downtown.
I understand hotels have had to adapt their services due to covid but the current breakfast here is not good at all compared to what they used to serve in the past. There wasn’t any hot item in the bag. I stayed at two comfort inn locations during my time in the maritimes and both included in their breakfast bag an english muffin with sausage, egg & cheese that you can heat in your room; so much better.
I stayed for two weeks and everything was wonderful. Rooms are well appointed with comfortable beds and a full kitchen. No daily housekeeping because of COVID-19 but that was fine. I placed my trash bag outside each day and it was usually collected pretty quickly. I requested towels, bedding, toilet paper etc through the app and everything was always delivered promptly. Hotel is a perfect location downtown and walking distance to the waterfront, casino and many great restaurants. $25 per night for parking in their secure underground, heated garage. The staff at this hotel really goes the extra mile. Troy, Kelsey and the wonderful Jennie are fabulous! This is now our go-to hotel in Halifax. Happy travels!
We stayed Oct 23 & 24, 2020, Friday & Saturday nights, for our Anniversary. Face masks required inside hotel, on elevators (max 2 persons/same family) at a time, until you reach your room, Hand sanitizer and distancing markers all over although 3rd floor sanitizer by elevators was empty second day. While room sanitized we wiped down all high contact areas for peace of mind! We did not get housekeeping service on 2nd day, by choice, just got towels refreshed. Entire hotel has been renovated! New laminate wood floors, new hall carpeting, new carpet and flooring in units and new furniture! Pleasant surprise! Included breakfast has been modified as a result of C19; no longer hot buffet but a grab-n-go that you pick up at the front desk. Our breakfast bag on our first morning consisted of 2 boiled/shelled eggs, orange, yogurt with spoon, apple juice, lunch box size (tiny) granola bar with chocolate chips and chocolate chip muffin. Coffee was in room available to brew. We ran a couple carafes of water through it to clean it out. The second morning we got an apple, yogurt with spoon and napkin, orange juice, tiny granola bar with chocolate chips and blueberry muffin. I missed the boiled eggs from the first morning and I am allergic to chocolate so could not eat the muffin not granola bar. Not sure why the inconsistency in breakfast offerings between the days. I noted an allergy on our reservation and requested feather free; they get this right each time! Rooms very comfortable, well appointed; hallways can carry noise from other guests in the middle of the night, This hotel is very well located and why we love staying here. Will be back!…
Always enjoy our time spent st the Residence Inn in Halifax. And if you get the chance, the view from the rooftop is great. Location is good, close to all the best spots in the city. Parking is convenient and reasonably priced
