We recently stayed at this property - 128.00 which I found out on our return was to include breakfast, however we were not informed of such, so the 128.00 a night seems now a tad bit steep! Close to downtown Halifax, the Gardens, Citadel and Dalhousie University. Our room was clean, could hear people about us walking around at times.

Nice hotel for 85 dollars a night...not as close as you think to the boardwalk and uphill coming back but literally next to the public gardens. Room was fine.Clean but no view. Parking was 25.00 dollars a day.

The Lord Nelson is a wonderful place to stay. The rooms are spacious and the location ideal, but the best part is the service. Matthew, just one of the wonderfully friendly, welcoming, and helpful doormen, not only helped load our car, but kept my teens talking as they waited. Sam and Shendel, at the front desk, went well beyond the...

We bussed to this hotel from the airport - our rental car arrangements didn't work out. Fortunately the bus stopped right outside the hotel! We also enjoyed the beautiful Victorian Public Gardens are across the street, nearby Turkish restaurant, and pharmacy. The room was average, but the historic lobby decor was nice.

The reason why I choose this hotel, because of the convenient location, as it is at the downtown Halifax, restaurants nearby, also the Public Garden just across the street. Second, the price is really good! Third, after I stayed here for tow nights, I am really impressed by the hotel staffs. They all are very nice! Good customer service makes...

Stayed for a few days on business. Room was ok, but a bit dated. The restaurant was ok. Breakfast was good. The hotel was quite busy but you didn't really notice it. The staff were great and friendly. They were able to recommend local attractions and restaurants.

I booked this room on Hotwire, which is apparently code for "you get our beat-up rooms". I had thought I was booking a king-room, and got two doubles. This doesn't end the world, but it's not what I had expected. The lobby of the hotel is grandiose and beautiful. Art-deco, Great Gatsby-ish decor, and feel. The hallways matched the lobby,...

my stay at the lord nelson was good. the staff was super pleasant and very helpful. i loved the location of the hotel, it was in close proximity to many parts of the city. while i didn't hate my room (it was spacious and the bed was comfy), i wish that the rooms didn't look so dated. unfortunately, with the...

Well thank you very much for those kind words girlflyingsolo! I absolutely agree - our location is great and our staff/bellmen are even better. As far as your thoughts about our rooms, we are in the initial stages of redoing all of the rooms. I am glad you felt comfortable here and we hope to see you again on your...

We stayed here for 2 nights as part of a Maritime vacation. Rooms are small but clean. Nice location. A short walk to downtown and a beautiful public garden across the street. Doorman gave us some good advice. It is very well maintained and has character. Room was small but was fine for our needs.
