Gorgeous lobby-newly decorated and furnished rooms---great food esp. the buffet breakfast-convenient location with short walk to waterfront , shops and numerous restaurants, friendly staff. If the hero of Trafalgar should ever return- he would find it fitting for a Lord but affordable and comfortable for a commoner.

We were on the 6th floor in room 638. This hotel is VERY NICE. We felt quite swanky staying there. Got a great deal on Hotwire. Although this is a fancier hotel, the beds lacked proper comforters (in my opinion anyways.) All they had on the bed was a very thin comforter (if you want to call it that) and...

We arrived very late in the evening and the front desk staff were very helpful getting us checked. We were a small group of six. Even though it was late, when asked about water, they provided us additional complementary bottles. Additionally, we called back for blankets for the bed and they were quickly brought up. Mind you it was after...

As someone who travels extensively for work, I've come to expect certain hiccups from hotels and don't get too upset when things go wrong but this stay was so bad... I showed up around noon, knowing check in was at 3, but thought I'd try in case. The reception said the room wasn't ready but to come back at 1:30,...

The hotel is going through a remodel, but the remodelled room we received was very good. I love having hardwood floors in a hotel room, because it seems way cleaner to me than carpeting. I would hope that all hotels start going this way for us guests that like to think that bad things live in carpets :-) ... JK....

It's only a few blocks from the harbor waterfront. The staff is great. The accommodations are excellent, clean and first class. The Arms restaurant pub has great food and a great atmosphere. The entire hotel is a nice blend of the old traditions and tastefully done upgrades.

I've stayed at the Lord Nelson many times. It's very centrally located one street off of the main drag and also next to a beautiful park. The staff is very friendly and the hotel rooms are a good size and very clean. The restaurant and bar attached to the hotel is also serves good food and drinks. If you need...

My family took two rooms and spent three nights at the Lord Nelson hotel this week. It was our first stay and we won't go back! During booking, I spoke with the manager who explained that the hotel doesn't cater to families, so we would need to take two separate rooms to accommodate our children. I took a second room...

I have been here before and adored it with my spouse, but we didn't stay long when we traveled with our teens. Internet is not consistent throughout the building, breakfasts aren't entirely kid-friendly, and the rooms aren't tremendously spacious. If you're traveling as a couple, however, I'd call the rooms 'intimate' and 'very comfortable'. And being in downtown Halifax for...
